The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. I have no affiliations with any broker/dealer and all posts are for educational purposes only. Major call to action: buy SMSI!

SMSI is now trading @ 17.50

SMSI has been recommended several times already. The time may be absolutely right to get in right now. Earnings is this Wednesday. Just today, Verizon announced impressive earnings. It could be due to their Music Essentials kits, created by the partnership of Verizon and Smith Micro (SMSI).

Intermediate to longer term play.

Monday day/swing trade: LMRA

LMRA closed @ 6.27

Buy the stock if it sees green, for a daytrade. If it's very strong throughout the day, then it can be held to the next day.

The technicals are showing there will likely be a bounce on Monday. Watch it turn green, or buy the morning dip (if any).

This global positioning system leader is a must-own.

Earnings is coming up on Nov. 1 .

Swingtrade or longer term hold.

The floor of satellite radio : XMSR

XMSR closed @ 10.17

The stock has bottomed or nearly bottomed is my opinion. I've recommended this stock before and now would like to re-recommend it. It's a good price and i would consider entry. While i believe most companies that don't have earnings is very speculative, i think this a good risk/reward play.

I purchased a new car recently and it came with XM radio pre-installed. My goodness, i would never want to go back to AM/FM! Dude, prestine musical sound without the useless and annoying commercials makes for one joyful ride.

Like Cramer, i believe the ceos of XM and Sirius should seriously consider merging so they could start to raise the subscription fee to $15-20/month. Neither of the two heads are willing to let the other take control at the helm is my opinion. Can these two companies really think they can beat the other one? No way. The way things are, it really makes the business very cutthroat for both of the companies.

Swing/intermediate/longer term play.

The stock is on its way to 27 first stop.

Intermediate to longer term play. Swingtrade is a possibility too.

EXEL: The next Genentech?

Who knows but i've been getting spam mail from the Motley Fools, claiming that EXEL has all the makings of the original Genentech (DNA). It does have many trials all taking place at the same time. So the possibility of at least one striking a chord with the FDA is high.

I tend to agree with their take of EXEL, because in the biotech world where clinical trials can take forever to complete, having alot of them going on at one time is much better than having just one or two or even three. EXEL has about 8-10 clinical trials going on at the same time.

Longer term play. The Motleys think that EXEL can double in one year.

EXEL closed at $10.38

LMRA - the next Qualcomm?

LMRA closed @ 6.45 on yesterday. (It's trading at $7.30 premarket right now. You may want to wait out the first 30 minutes of trading to see if LMRA still trades above $7 before buying. A huge gap up like this usually results in a morning selloff.)

Actually, for now, it is a very speculative tech play. The company claims its initial test of their "millimeter wave wireless bridge" was a success. We're talking about incredible wireless speeds that will make the internet much more exciting.

I said several days ago that i wanna see it trade above $7 again before really buying the stock. And so it has.

I suggest you buy and keep some shares. The reason is several fold:

1) Lots of interest from traders. I know this because of the high volume, and it took out the previous high of $7.10 from two days ago.

2) In the next few years, any company that can contribute to Web 2.0 should benefit.

3) Remember Altaire (ALTI)? That nanotech stock traded above 400 million market cap just a few years ago, on hype alone. LMRA is more exciting than ALTI, especially considering the popularity of the internet. If LMRA trades at 400 million market cap, it would be a $25 stock. I am now very confident it will get there.

4) Management had said that there are already customers lining up for their technology, once commercialized. This should be enough to keep traders very interested in the stock.

5) An independent bigger test is taken place right now and the results should be announced next month, as indicated by the most recent press release. This should keep traders interested until then. Positive results and word of commercialization and customers next month should send the stock to new highs. If everything is as real and positive as management have led us to believe, we may have the next QCOM!

6) Intel and Cisco have both invested in LMRA several years ago. There must be something about LMRA that they liked.

7) Detractors of the stock says that LMRA's milliwave technology is no different than TRBM's. I beg to differ. TRBM says on their website that they could transfer up to 1.25Gbps. LMRA says they can transfer 10Gbps!

8) We're talking about optical fiber speeds WITHOUT the laying of fibers, because it's done wirelessly. That should drop the costs of super highspeed data/video transmission dramatically.

Ok, i want you guys to own some, but please don't own big. It's still a very speculative story stock right now. We'll get a better idea of the company next month.

Longer term play. I recommend selling 1/2 at near a double and riding the rest for free. I am pinning an initial target of $25.

A stock on sale: CTXS

CTXS got hit on earning is trading at 28.30 premarket this morning.

Time to scoop up some! The stock bottomed is my opinion.

I was going to recommend CTXS eventually for web 2.0

MRK for the diabetic.

MRK closed at $43.96 .

It's a great short term, intermediate term, and longer term play on their recent FDA approval for their diabetic drug. Of course, that's gonna make them alot of money.

MRK is trading at 52 week high right now. It appears that the biotechs/pharmas have been rallying for a week now. Could be the start of a trend.

Any stock can be bought right now!

Big play defense contractor SAI

SAI closed @ 18.18 on friday.

I went to their website and did some due diligence. I like it.
www.saic.com

SAI made almost 8 billion in revenue and almost 1 billion in profits. That's 1/5 the size of Lockheed Martin (LMT) in terms of revenue. SAI offered about 75 million shares to the public and has a total of about 325 million shares outstanding, most of which are owned by the employees.

Jim Cramer recommended on Friday that we buy the stock. With only 75 million shares in the float is just not enough to go around for the rest of us and the big institutions. I suspect SAI will run like MA did. I believe SAI is headed to $40 within 6 months.

Longer term play.

RVBD encore!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I first recommended RVBD @ $15-$16 for the intermediate to longer term hold. I still like it alot. And on Friday, Jim Cramer lit the fire underneath it by recommending RVBD. Afterhours gapped the stock to $21.

I am very confident in the back of my mind that RVBD will eventually be a 10-bagger or even 15-bagger. I believe RVBD is the next NTAP (Network Appliance) in the making. NTAP currently is a 14 billlion dollar company while RVBD is only a 1 billion dollar company. RVBD is growing like a weightlifter on steroids. 500% revenue growth!

buy buy buy!

Intermediate to longer term play. I recommend holding it for at least 1 year.

Please try not to buy on this gap up. Wait for the fade.

Got some ORCL @ 19.01

Gotta have some mega cap tech.

I bought some november call options.

Thursday, October 12, 2006

The time is just right for PALM.

Currently trading at 16.05 .

With a market cap of 1.6 billion, i believe PALM is cheap. RIMM, on the other hand, is too expensive. RIMM has over 20 billion market cap.

Longer term play.

DIVX encore!!

I say it for the 5th time, Youtube + Google = a possible windfall for DIVX.

I have no doubt DIVX will eventually see north of $30.

Speech recognition software NUAN is the wave of the future.

NUAN @ 10.08

This is the premier speech recognition software company that should become a behemoth in the future.

Intermediate to longer term play.

I was gonna tell ya to buy the option calls this morning at .15 but i totally forget about it. Sorry. I just purchased NUAN oct 10 calls at .35 for a swing trade. I suggest you buy the stock instead.

What is there not to love about GRMN?

It's a wonderful company and a wonderful stock.

Do i need to tell ya that GRMN will be the 800 pound gorilla of global positioning systems?

GRMN trading @ 50.70 right now.

Longer term play. Put some in your 401k.

wifi SMSI !!!!

I highly recommend owning some SMSI, before earnings in a few weeks. It is trading at 52 week high.

SMSI is now popularized by their partnership with Verizon Wireless to sell Essential Music Kits to cell phone users that allow for the download of music. All indications are, the Chocolate phone is selling really well. The only problem is that Verizon is their only main customer for the music kits. But that should change soon.

SMSI sells many types of software, including fax, compression, and wifi.

Intermediate to longer term play.

DVAX encore!

DVAX closed today at $8.04

We liked it at $6.23 but i still like it here especially after today. It looks like we are set up technically to take out $8 possibly tomorrow and i believe we could see $10 by Wednesday's close. As stated before, i find DVAX one of the most exciting biotech plays in some time. If things go according to plan, DVAX could become a behemoth. But that is way too soon to determine.

Any morning dip we get tomorrow, i suggest buying the stock.

Good for daytrade. Intermediate and longer term i believe it will trade way above $10.

Holy stock picks!!! Green all over!!

I feel very fortunate that just about everyone of my recommendations, except today's NRPH (but it'll prove me right soon enough) lately had been profitable.

Hey, i could be gettin lucky because we're in a bull market. So, we'll see.

Rock on!

NRPH is going hyper!

NRPH is now trading @ 44.

I know it is up alot but i believe it will in time go much higher.

Attention deficit disorder afflicts a huge number of Americans.

FDA approval should make NRPH mucho denero.

DIVX encore!

DIVX closed @ 20.72 on Friday.

I recommend buying the stock on any dip from here if we get any. I believe it is almost time for the stock to rally once again. The reason is, if rumor is true, that Google is in talks to acquire YouTube. Remember that Google is a customer of DIVX, representing 20% of DIVX's business. I assume that DIVX had been generating income from Google Video. Now if you add YouTube, the number one video site in the entire internet universe with over 100 million downloads/uploads per day, it could be big windfall for DIVX. (Of course, i'm assuming Google gets YouTube and that Google uses DIVX's technology for the YouTube site.)

Buy buy buy!

Buy the nasdaq exchange NDAQ!

NDAQ closed at $31.73

NYX, ICE, CBOT and CME are all above NDAQ's 3.5 billion market cap. I believe it is only a matter of time before NDAQ catches up.

NDAQ has resistance around the 34 area but should eventually break thru it, sending the stock to retest 47.

Longer term play.

Ragweed DVAX @ 6.23

Their vaccine against ragweed allergies were successful in preliminary studies. There are 30 million Americans who suffer from ragweed allergies. The 2 week multishot vaccine (once approved by the FDA) could cost consumers over $100 (in my opinion). Multiply that by 30 million Americans you get about $3 billion in potential revenues.

The ceo indicated on CNBC that they are trying to "franchise" their technologies to other types of allergies. They are looking into peanut allergies right now. Do you know that there are over 100 allergies known to man?

DVAX's preliminary study on ragweed vaccine was on 25 people, but they have a larger ongoing study of over 700 people. Preliminary results will likely come out in Jan. 2007.

Since DVAX is not profitable, it is a very risky play. But the recent financing and positive study result should help the stock eventually break above $8.

DVAX is an intermediate to longer term play.

Very speculative SWAT the next Taser?

SWAT closed at $5.25

I don't know if it will ever run like TASR did, but i am very impressed with their products. www.shiftwatch.com

They partnered with Sony Electronics and created a wickedly powerful mobile surveillance system for law enforcement, public transportation and general securities sector. You can go to their website and find out who their customers are.

Additionally, SWAT recently acquired a company that makes non-lethal pepper spray guns and launchers. www.non-lethal.com . Hmmm, i'd probably get myself some pepper spray guns once they become available. Check it out!

They seems to be growing relatively fast, although revenue is still small. But in time, they should be able to get larger customers. This stock is reminiscent of the original TASR company.

I don't know whether the stock market is interested in another TASR, but i like SWAT's products and their growth potential as a company.

SWAT is for a longer term play, possibly very long term. Volume is very anemic and, because of this, i may or may not buy the stock. The float is extremely small - a little over 1 million shares. Please play small. You might want to buy one hundred shares (just to keep track of the stock) or a few hundred shares and just hold it.... and add more if you see a dramatic increase in volume plus better fundamentals. SWAT obviously is a very risky play. I rather prefer to see more volume in the stock before buying. But if you're the kind of investor who likes Early Bird Specials and you're very patient, then SWAT may be for you.

I currently have no position in SWAT.

AZO the next Walmart?

AZO @ 107.19.

I believe the company could become the next Walmart of the automotive industry. I recommend buying some for your 401k.

Very long term play.

ANGN @8.15 is a nice speculative play.

The company recently became profitable.

This is a low float very speculative play, so be careful.

Day, Swing or longer term play. I believe it is slated to break above $10.

Time to bathe in the sun with PSUN?

PSUN @ 16.57 is a buy for the intermediate but especially for the longer term hold. I was watching it at $14 but forgot about it.

The ceo recently resigned from this specialty retailer, which will probably lift the stock from now on. I guess when you get rid of bad management, you sometimes get a better stock. It's a pretty good retailer if you interested in summerwear.

I believe it will see $20 in the intermediate term, and back to old highs in the longer term.

Tuesday, October 03, 2006

DIVX was a buy at $21

I like to trade this stock. It should be in play for some time, thanks to Cramer.

Sunday, October 01, 2006

We are currently at resistance areas.

This Fall is playing out differently than anyone had expected. It could be that so many thought we would plunk back to the May/June lows starting September. Contrarian thinking made money for the bulls. We are now at resistance areas so there may be a corrective move this week before we finally take out the old highs. I think the bull market will continue. Nevertheless, i suggest you not be on margin this month until we get thru the infamous October.
