The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. Very speculative SWAT the next Taser?

SWAT closed at $5.25

I don't know if it will ever run like TASR did, but i am very impressed with their products. www.shiftwatch.com

They partnered with Sony Electronics and created a wickedly powerful mobile surveillance system for law enforcement, public transportation and general securities sector. You can go to their website and find out who their customers are.

Additionally, SWAT recently acquired a company that makes non-lethal pepper spray guns and launchers. www.non-lethal.com . Hmmm, i'd probably get myself some pepper spray guns once they become available. Check it out!

They seems to be growing relatively fast, although revenue is still small. But in time, they should be able to get larger customers. This stock is reminiscent of the original TASR company.

I don't know whether the stock market is interested in another TASR, but i like SWAT's products and their growth potential as a company.

SWAT is for a longer term play, possibly very long term. Volume is very anemic and, because of this, i may or may not buy the stock. The float is extremely small - a little over 1 million shares. Please play small. You might want to buy one hundred shares (just to keep track of the stock) or a few hundred shares and just hold it.... and add more if you see a dramatic increase in volume plus better fundamentals. SWAT obviously is a very risky play. I rather prefer to see more volume in the stock before buying. But if you're the kind of investor who likes Early Bird Specials and you're very patient, then SWAT may be for you.

I currently have no position in SWAT.

anonymous,

i would stay away from commodities for awhile until we get the sign that they're ready to rally, which they currently are not.

DVAX: On CNBC the ceo said the hay fever vaccines could be available by 2008-2009. I don't care to take any, but the potential for the company could be huge because he said they are studying other allergies using the same technology. He said 'franchise'.

Regardless, as long as there's no earnings, it's still a story stock.

what do you think of ATI?

anonymous,

ATI shows signs of a bottom but has resistance at 65-66. Because people are still dumping commodities, ATI can still go down, a la VLO.
