The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. HTI the cheapest biggest potential stock on the planet?

HTI trades @ 4.75

HTI is a biotech company that just landed a huge deal with Roche for a potential $600 million windfall for the company (HTI) if certain milestones are met. Several analysts upgraded the stock with a high target of $10. HTI has technology that could revolutionize the pharma research industry, kinda like LMRA's proteomic processor.

short/intermediate/longer term play.

HTI: nice to see that it broke thru $5. Very important.

yeah baby! Will we see $10 sooner rather than later?? Stay tuned...

I don't really know how far this will go, but if you got decent profits, feel free to take 1/2 off today or tomorrow or the next day. If you like this stock alot after doing some due diligence, then hold it longer.

Up to you. But know that since it trades on the Amex exchange (where crooked specialists abound) it can get pretty volatile.

Hey, you folks might want to spread the word about HTI on message boards. Alot of folks can't see HTI on their radar because it trades on the Amex. Tell them about HTI so they don't end up buying other lame biotech stocks. HTI is the one!

Its always better to make a little than lose alot. If PXPL dips down, I would recommend to buy more. I sold half today also and hoping for dip down. It should have more leg up.

Hi Beanie,

I have limited funds to trade with (under 30K) and I am stuck with NMX (bought 1st day @ $ 143), GRMN (bought @ $54.40) and SEED (bought @ $14). I generally do day trading and these stocks are holding most of my funds. Would appreciate your advice.

Chao,
I could not help myself relate to your situation now. If I remember correctly these 3 stocks you mention are most probably reecomended by analysts, ie Motley Fools.com/or Jim Cramer or any other websites. Usually when stocks are covered by analyst, the stocks price are usually on its peak or peaking. I too don't have enough money. So I find a small-cap stock that has big potential-ie unique product or service, or leader in its field or have a very outstanding business plan and practices. IPOs and small company in their early years are my focus now. A very good example which I am presently holding is RVBD. They have a unique product that address a problem in WAN- wide area network. I only have 4 stocks portfolio, I buy in every dip whenever I think it's cheap enough. I only allocate 10-20% of my money to buy highly speculative stock for short term trading- a few days to a few weeks. So far even with a dip today, I am still up by 18%. My RVBD is up 48%.
I dump all my Oil stocks & Gold a few months ago and took a loss of over $2000. But I recover from recent acquisitions. The lessons I learn was one should be careful about chasing a stock that has made its run up, it might go higher but risk is greater that it would not and might even go down in time. I did that in VLO, APA,HANS, GIGM, GG, SMSI among others. With all the available news and info about stocks, we still could not correctly predict how the market will react or behave.
As Beanie would answer your query: "depends on your investing goal or style- long-term or short?" I'd say if you have the patience to wait, it will surely recover in time. Or if you really want to change your investment choices, sell at the highest possible price only when you are ready to buy a better stock.

Dear SGV,

Many thanks for your detailed comments; your analysis is good and will be a help for the future.

Dear Beanie,

The specific help that I need in these three stocks is their their PROSPECTS with time frame. Especially on NMX as I am $20 down and $4 down on GRN. On SEED I am $2 down but volume is over 900 shares. The current loss is around 3K.

I look forward to your advice. Thanks in advance.

Dear Beanie,

The specific help I need is prospects of these three stocks with time frame - NMX (I am $ 20 down); GRMN ($5 down), SEED ($2 down but volume is over 900 shares). Current loss around 3K.
If I can redeem these losses, I would like to invest short-medium term with 2/3 of my funds and remaining 1/3 for 'day trading' and immediate term trade.

Thanks, Beanie, in advance.

OSTK is a scary business. This company looks like its imploding. Revenue isn't growing; in fact, it is shrinking from last year. They are losing money that they don't have. Sooner or later, they gotta sell stock.

I've asked my wife if what she thinks of OSTK, as she does alot of internet shopping. She said she couldn't find anything she needs over there. I gonna go with the wife; as she is usually right. She loves using Ebay and Google, even before they became megastocks. I personally like Amazon.com as i usually shop there.

Beanie,
I'm reading up on HTI, looks very promising business. Right now I think it's still relatively cheap- this could one of relatively unknown small cap that could double in short time. I shall consider keeping this one for a while. The first time I saw it was on PBS Nightly Business News, should be interesting to see how it will do tomorrow.
