The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. RNIN: I'm getting the feeling that this stock is headed higher, likely to 10 short term. The stock is overbought immediate term, but then alot of ipo's usually are overbought and many keeps on going. We'll see.

hey, i'm gonna take a short nap. Was awake the whole nite.

Be back later.

With a down market like this, there's not much you can do on the long side. You especially want to stay away from small stocks on big down days.

The Chicago PMI released earlier is tanking the market. Let's see if it can reverse later today.

I'm setting a stop buy order at 20.65 MRVL.

NYX has bottomed.

ZVUE doesnt look too good technically in the short term. THat stock needs news.

RNIN - we gonna let it consolidate one more day and see if we can enter for another day/swing trade. If you still own it and thinking about the longer term, by all means, hold on to it. But my goal was to get you folks free shares of that stock and then move on.

DVAX was called awhile ago i think at $6-7 area. Anyone buying above $10 will have to wait for it to get ready to move higher. Could take days or could take weeks.

Some days you might have to sell them just to play the small caps, but i still want ya to get back in MRVL/NYX after you sell the small cap (hopefully for a profit). You gettin my drift?

Thu Nov 30, 04:26:00 PM EST
Blogger beanie11111 said...

jennifer,

NLST was interesting today. The company has 19 million shares outstanding and 6 million on the float. At $8, the market cap is about $160 million. The company makes revenues of about 125 million and income of 4 million. The reason the big boys weren't that interested in this ipo (they let it drop to 7.4 this morning) was probably because the company isn't growing consistently the last few years. Wallstreet likes growth!

NLST is kinda like EMKR as a company. If NLST were valued like EMKR, i think it will go higher. I might take a position on NLST soon. We'll see. Obviously i like NLST much more than EMKR because it has a much lower float, giving alot of quick trading opportunities. I think NLST goes higher.

I started buying RVBD on Sept. 25th by a few shares- 100, 50 and even as low as 18 lately. Sold a 300 shares when it hit 25 because I need to payoff my credit card. But still have some 300 with average cost of $21, and with every dip I try to buy. Point is, I do keep a few stocks for a possible big long term returns-hopefully up to 500%. I do buy risky-high return stock, ie EFUT just 100 shares made $2700 in very short time. I still cannot do daytrading - maybe when I retire.

That's my point, those type of high momentum stock doesn't come often so I keep a few that I think will be a multi-bagger- I have DIVX, RVBD, SMSI,CTXS. My latest buy is ZVUE which is not doing well- down by 15%. What Beanie is doing in my opinion is very difficult- takes a lot of time, hard work, skill and a little luck. Used to be a gambler myself- casino gambling. I feel he's got that unique talent - like finding the winning stocks.

Beanie,

It appears that Navellier is pushing MED as the next NTRI. Though I only recieved a solicitation to his Emerging Growth its pretty obvious he's hyping MED. The stock has moved at a significant pace recently also. What do you think about the claims that it is going to be hyped a diabetic specific diet system for subscribers. It crashed a few months ago because the earlier test group fell apart and results never made it to publication.

Thanx

Lee,
Your portfolio is not too shabby, mine is yr to date is just about 26% only because of ZVUE and SMSI is losing a bit on my holdings. I have to pay a little bit more of capital gains tax for this year- I traded all my oil and gold stocks which I do not regret because Beanie pointed me to some of the hottest stocks this year.
I do use margin, but only when I cannot inject new money immediately. Still a small trader, I usually limit my buy on highly speculative stocks to 200 or even 100 shares and I seldom use margins. If I do I try to pay it asap.

Mark,
Try Prophet.net. Dont set it exactly at one std deviation. Use a value below such that your greed is satisfied and such that you feel you wont be taken off by some random swing. Also since most ppl know abt this you might want to keep some value below 2nd STD deviation or so (if you are not too greedy). I think Beanie can explain this better.

Pamfla,
When he says small cap it means small capital stock i.e. Share price * number of common shares. Investopedia says - "generally it is a company with a market capitalization of between $300 million and $2 billion. "

I use Tradeking. $4.50 per trade, fast executions, but slow site. Zecco.com gives free trades, but I would not recommend them till we get good reviews.

Brett,
The cheapest online broker I use is SOGOINVEST.COM. They charge $3.00 a trade- market/limit. There is even a 90 days special rate of $1/trade.
