The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Hdtv rocks with DISH!

DISH closed @ 37.98

The Hdtv trend will only going to continue to grow. DISH will be one of the top 3 beneficiaries of this trend. Every home wants high-def tv, although not every home can afford one just yet.

Competitors include Comcast and DTV.

Intermediate to longer term play.

I don't know how much futher it can run but i do know the company will soon need more money to finance further studies.

I have no position.

DTV is down today on an analyst downgrade. My take is that Liberty is going to be much more aggressive in growing DTV than News Corp. was, so if Beanie concurs, I think this is still a keeper. Buy and hold. I may hedge my bets and pick up some DISH as well.
As a side note, DTV is up a bit more this year than DISH:

How is it that good news isn't already factored into the price? When the CEO announced earlier that this would be a profitable quarter, the stock subsequently rose significantly. I would be careful with holding this through earnings. Though I closed my position, I hope that I am wrong and that there's more good news tomorrow. Best of luck

Wed Dec 13, 04:57:00 PM EST

Base on my observations of earning calls a stock usually climbs with anticipation and most of the time drops right after the call. XNN has actually already declined which usually leads to a robost increase and continuing climb through the course of the call day. I anticipate positive results over all for tomorrow. What really grabs me about this company is the product itself. Based on my life in the military I would require this product as part of our military personel outfiting. I also believe that there will be an increase in military numbers via a draft up and coming. The potential orders are going to sky rocket this stock eventually. Speculation...but thats what I see coming.

can anyone recomend good brokeage firms? looking for somebody that doesnt charge high for trades.., currently i use td ameritrade at 9$ a trade, and also sogo invest at 1$ a trade, however sogo does not allow online ACH tranfers, so you have to send in request in mail

JW,
I use SOGO and Firstrade. Both needs for you to send your mail applications. After approval,2-3days, ACH transfer is easy. Firstrade charge 6.95/trade but you can request ACH WD.
With SOGO you have to request a check in the mail for withdrawal.

Hi Board,

Here is the gist of the earnings report:

CARLSBAD, Calif., Dec. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- XENONICS HOLDINGS,
INC. (Amex: XNN), a leader in advanced illumination and low light viewing
technology, today announced net income for the fourth quarter of fiscal
2006 of $753,000, or $0.05 per diluted share, versus a loss of $3,198,000,
or $0.20 per share, for the fourth quarter of fiscal 2005, as revenue
increased more than four-fold to $2,340,000 from $529,000.
"We expect this trend of increasing revenue and profit to continue in
fiscal 2007," said Alan Magerman, Chairman of the Board.

Which way would the shares go from here - Beanie and the other experts?
