The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. DTV got more channels!

DTV closed @ 24.28

DTV offers 180 channels for about 60 bucks, which is a great deal compared to Comcast Cable. DTV also has more subscribers than Dish Network. I actually like this company and stock more than i like Marvell (MRVL).

Intermediate to longer term trade. DTV is a large company; so you can put alot of money into it without worrying too much. Make DTV one of your core positions!

First target $40.

This is an interesting pick. Everything I've read suggests that Liberty Media is going to be very aggressive about growing DTV -- much more so than News Corp.

XNN:

In my opinion, a huge breakout is coming. Don't be on the sidelines anymore. Look, today's press release says they are ordering 1200 units to be delivered by Perkins the first 3 months of next year. Multiply 1200 by $2400 a unit = nearly $3 million in revenues. They should exceed revenues of 2004: http://finance.yahoo.com/q/is?s=XNN&annual . I am not sure how much revenue the SuperVision googles will add to the overall revenues or whether the goggles are part of the $2400 unit. Either way, XNN should have a profitable year in 2007.

Beanie,
Hans- yes it's still a good stock to hold if you bought it below 30 after the big drop. But long term prospect is still not clear- too many competition, FDA might start regulating energy drinks, albeit in the future, shorts loves this stocks-when you think it's going up goes down on you.
DTV- that's a good pick I'd be buying more in every dip.
XNN- a stock that is cheap enough to hold for a time, I still think it's still cheap now at 3.40- that is if all the potential growth is realized.
FORG- I think if they can collect on all their patent infringements cases, this baby is worth more than $3.
ZVUE- seems like this one is running out of steam.
AKAM- I think is overpriced.
AAPL- price just right now, but will have a decent price growth. I think people who don't have the money or the patience should forget this one. I read Warren Buffet doesn't like Tech stocks- because R&D is very expensive and continued R&D is needed to keep up with the competition- look what happen to INTEL.
By the way, I still holds RVBD, DIVX and SMSI. I still have positive gains because I only buy on a dip. I am slowly but surely adopting to a style of managing my holdings aggressively- buying and selling if needed be. And again, let me assure you that your stock picks and guidance I always consider and value. Thanks!

HANS: there is virtually no competition for HANS with the exception of Redbull. Redbull you can't drink too much of it because it'll taste nasty (enough of it makes it tastes like Robitussin medication) and will make you sick. HANS is just above the rest of the other 100 brands. Eventually all the others will fall by the roadside. Just like in the world of sodas, only a handful will survive and thrive (Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, 7-up, etc), and Monster will be one of them. Please believe me and don't go shorting HANS. Those diehard shorts will will will get decimated.

Not only does HANS Monsters taste better than the rest, HANS is a Cinderalla stock/company. A Cinderella stock is a stock that is DESTINED to succeed and grow into a big company. I know its hard for many of you to believe, but the stars are behind HANS Monster drinks. EBAY, MSFT, AMZN, YHOO, INTC,etc., were all Cinderella stocks (even before they became the stocks we know them to be)!

You don't have to believe me about the esoteric (note that Fibonacci Retracements, Gannes analysis, and Elliot Waves came from the esoteric), but do believe me that HANS is not a good stock to short for the long term.

Beanie and rest of class,

Jones Soda Company ( JSDA ) is another good competitor in soft drink biz-buzz. Their products are front rows at STBX, Pandora Bread, I saw Jones`es at Costco.
They`re receptive to consumer`s needs ( different tastes, young crowds, organics, catchy labels ). The stock trades around $10.
ZUMIEZ another example of "nitche found" company - surfing and snowboarding products.
Did someone say seasonal ?
Lastly, BARE, recent IPO - natural cosmetics, free of talc, oil & fragrances. My wife praised their illuminative natural mascara ( no itchying syndrom for these of you who use mascaras, lol )
She finally found the product at Nordstrom downtown. Sephora, sephora.com, nordstrom.com, shopzilla.com, amazon.com were out of some of the cosmeticcs she wanted.
BARE is "hot" in Europe. Many wifes of mega$$$men in Moscow choose BARE over fancy French cosmeticts. I guess they need more exposure here, locally.

Have a great one!

I'd been using margins for sometime now, yes it can drive you nuts when your buys are down. But so far I'm ahead. For the margins for Nov.-I paid just $32 but made over 3k. I limit 10-20% of my holdings of highly speculative stocks works for me. Beanie's formula seems to be working for me too- I actually enjoying it more now. Yes, I do make bad buys-either wrong one or bad timing or both but the few good ones more than offset those losses.

Significant economic data will be released this week that will most certainly move the markets. 12/15 is the day, it seems:

Also, I'm long on GOOG, and thought that I'd share an interesting article about the YouTube/Goog deal. Goog more or less follows the markets, so the uncertainty over the last weeks has had me a bit jittery. For what it's worth, here is a link to an interesting read:

anonymous,

I'm saying not to buy if you dont own it until after the 14th is because i could be wrong and the market responses negatively to the earnings. If you go ahead and buy at 3.40 and it turns out that the earnings upside has already been built into the stock price, you be screwed and end up holding a loser for the short term. Not a good feeling.

Regardless, longer term i like the stock. But you wouldn't be happy if you bought at 3.40 and the stock tanks to below $3 after earnings.

TSTC - guys monitor this one, it has formed a cup and handle and has been consolidating very well above 6, some more volume will send this way higher, very low float, and turning profitable, might jump to 10$ soon.

Also, look at RNIN, its a low float, and has been consolidating, I expect a breakout soon.

XNN is very risky holding into earnings, I hold a 100 shares, but if this pops before earnings, I think its time to bail.

oh man, i'm gettin too many questions i can't answer all of them. So if it's really important to you, feel free to ask again later.

But here are some answers.

ZVUE - as i said before, this is going thru consolidation until we get some huge news.

AEM - overbought short term, i think it's consolidating.

RNIN - just trading rangebound until we get some news.

ATI - getting into overbought territory and near big 100 resistance.

FORG - hope you traders have the good sense of selling this one in the morning for over 25% profit.

RVBD - consolidation. Traders/investors taking profits. Can't be too greedy. If you bought at $15, shouldn't you be taking at least 1/2 off?

XNN - i said not to buy this one into earnings if you didn't get it under $3; but it doesn't mean you can't daytrade it or swingtrade it (and take profits before earnings) if you sense a rally.

LVLT - has very important resistance at $6. It is a slow mover that needs to close above $6 to move higher.

EBAY - great long term play. Going higher

ZVUE - i did go to a Walmart and check on the mp3. Not available in my area. Also too many mp3's around. ZVUE's claim to fame will NOT be its ZVUE player; it will be their websites, if they can monetize them. It's consolidating right now and waiting for any big news. Regardless, there should be no reason anyone here should lose money with this stock if you buy where i recommended. Please also read my recent post on 'The Anatomy of The Trade'.

XNN:

More likely than not, it's headed higher and closing higher tomorrow. Hard to believe but i think we see $5 tomorrow. Good conference on Thursday could send the stock to $7 on Friday.

Hi Beannie,

What is the restriction of Insider selling? How long should they hold after they purchased?

HTI is starting well out of the gate.

I'm about to pull the trigger and sell all my HTI. Thoughts anyone? The Roche deal is great, yes, but there are so many milestones structured into that payout that unless you're willing to hold HTI for months I'm not sure that it will go very much higher. (I may be totally wrong on this -- and would appreciate feedback from anyone here!)

I already pulled the trigger on all of it. Was in at 4.75. I monitor some 40 stocks and all but about 4 are down for the day.

Beanie:

What do you think of FSN.

Fusion Telecommunications International, Inc. (Amex: FSN - News), a global Internet telephony provider, today announced the launch of Mobilink, a revolutionary new service that allows subscribers to access its retail Efonica VoIP services from their mobile phones, without Internet access or special software.

Mobilink allows subscribers to enjoy the low cost and excellent quality of VoIP from their mobile phones. Subscribers simply dial an access number, which automatically authenticates their Efonica member status and allows them to call virtually any number in the world at savings of up to 80% compared to their mobile carrier. This service will also be available from landline telephones.

Looks promising....???

ok--just sold 1/2 my remaining HTI to lock in some of today's gains. Anyone looking at F (Ford?) This chart has hit rock bottom and I think that this might be a turnaround play.

Neil,

nothin wrong with that. I also sold mine before today. I just felt that 400 million market cap was good enough for me.
