EMC's spinoff VMWare is going ipo within 2 weeks. It's the hottest ipo of the year. Some think it's the next GOOG. I beg to differ. If it were, wouldn't EMC have a much larger market cap right now? EMC owns 90% of VMWare after the spinoff.
EMC is perhaps the safest tech stock to own in this market turmoil.

I posted 2 days ago SOLARs were atleast 30% overvalued.Well we have seen the start off the correction.Do not buy solars until late SEPT.They need to correat and consolidate.

Based on what??
1) Housing is in a absolute gutter! Just ask your friends in California, Florida, Arizona, Virginia, Ohio, Georgia etc. how much their houses have declined in the past year alone. The use of house as ATM is over!!
2) The brokerages are in the toilet. If the owners of these companies are selling and selling hard, that means they know something. Plus, financials are 20% of S&P. With the financials tanking hard, how can there be a super rally.
3) Buy out and private equity boom is over because of credit crunch. This ends speculation interest in almost all companies that may be bought.

I hope no one wasted their time this morning watching the Clowns, Nothing But Clowns network reporting of the unemployment numbers. That had to be about the worst piece of journalism I have ever seen on tv.
"The report will be strong, easily over the 130,000 estimate" was stated by the group at 8:25. "If the report is weak, that will not be good news for the markets."
The report was for 92,000, immediately followed with "This is a good report, something in it for everyone."
I could get better reporting on the Disney channel. I certainly hope Fox, when it starts, does a better job. For my time, I'd rather watch dry, old Bloomberg.
