AMZN closed @ 44.75, and gapping 5.55 afterhours on blowout earnings.
Earnings more than doubled. Management also indicated the company will be buying back stock, which certainly adds value.
Three year high of $57 will undoubtedly be broken eventually. A break above $60 will send the stock back to 2000 high of over $100.
I am giving AMZN a 1-2 year target of $100. I predict a forward split by next year.

Right now i am mostly long.
First off I'm not a market expert, or soothsayer. I've just got this gut feeling that the markets can't possibly increase a lot from here with all the negative news on housing.
I've got a sizable part of my wealth (which is not much) in the market, and I might pull around 1/2 out and going with a money market account until after the summer. Ease my mind that is.
What do you guys and gals think? keep invested or ease out of the market (I'm only long, too scared to try options or shorting)

adjas, how about trying this, buy what you like and keep tight stops. that way if it goes up, you make money, if it goes against you, you loose little. keep taking regular profits if your not confident of the strength of the mkt. but this mkt is going higher. its only started to go up this yr.

I sold the remainder of my ONT position this morning... unusual to have a lot of (immediate) upside after a shelf registration announcement. Probably great for the stock in the long run, but the overhang will keep traders away until the deal is priced.

I'll be the first to admit around mid Sept. I decided to buy either AMZN or EBAY, and I opted for EBAY, well I got a 20% gain since then, but I would have gotten at least 50% with AMZN.

Sir, why would you short a stock that:
1) Is up 25% on very very heavy volume.
2) The move is due to strong earnings and buyback.
3) The price move is due to a 15% short interest in stock before the earnings. Which means that all shorts are now buying the stock.
4) Is on Beanie's headline top recommendation list for the day, with a price target of $100?
Having said that, I think if you hold your short till tomorrow, you probably will break even, at least.

I was thinking that 20+% up move is not very typical these days- look at GOOG and EBAY - they also showed positive earnings, jumped up, but pulled back after that. That's the reason.

20 P/E ratio --> $42.28
Analysts are predicting it to be possibly the most profitable airline in the country next year! They have the lowest CASM of the network carriers right now. That alone should give it a nice P/E ratio.
Forget CAL and UAUA. Go with best of breed in the network carriers!

EXPD could get a nice technical oversold bounce short-term but notice todays closing price of 60.06 is more than a dollar over Deutsche Bank new downgraded price target issued today after earnings/ guidance.
Near-term fundamentals don't appear too rosy to say the least.
Could very well get a fresh round of analyst downgrades in the coming days.

Company gave lower guidance, as contract value growth continues to decelerate.
