as far as GIGM goes, now would be an excellent time to buy more shares of this high-growth company
i believe GIGM bottomed short-term @ $14.11 (close to a 10% correction) off of its 52-wk. high from middle of last week ($15.40)
if you don't know much about GIGM, their cash-wagering Mahjong software should be up & running on Carmen Media Group's gaming websites anytime now
if a PR hits within the next 5-6 trading days announcing that Carmen has rolled-out Mahjong wagering, then GIGM should make a big jump
i believe GIGM's recent 6-month share price has been really dragged down b/c Carmen has been very late to roll-out their cash-wagering Mahjong site using GIGM's multi-lingual software
there are also rumors starting that Partygaming is looking at GIGM as a possible acquisition due to the US ban on on-line poker
GIGM has one of the fastest-growing on-line poker sites for all of Europe & Asia, therefore Partygaming is looking to expand more into the Europe & Asia markets rather than depend on the US poker market
also, expect a pre-earnings run to start anytime for GIGM - their Q1'07 earnings are due out in early-May

Gosu, I happened to check in and see your query re. AAPL. I trade mainly AAPL, daily, mostly daytrade it. Right after the market today, it announced a delay in its new op system. It then promptly fell below 90, at which time I quickly shorted it and then got out. I personally believe the big guns have been looking for a reason to take it back down, since it could not clear $97 on 3/27. Since Jan 17th, when it began the precipitous drop from a high that day of $97.60, and went on to form a nasty little island reversal, it has been trying to get back up to that point which as I noted above it failed to do. I would be extremely careful with AAPL for the next few days. I expect it to go down Friday, maybe to as low as 88, and if it breaks through 88, then the next stop could be around 84, the old "reversion to the mean" aspect (completion of the current bell curve formation) and what also appears to be the right side/down side of a head and shoulders formation that began with the gap up from 55.08 on 7/19/06. Of course I could be dead nuts wrong, and often am, but I have fought this beast daily for several years, and have had this feeling for some time that greater competition in the marketplace against its premier products, the Iphone verdict still out, etc., will provide the means for a major correction. I realize all the analysts have 100+ on the pps, so at best it is a crap shoot; deserving, minimally, cogent, thoughtful observance over the coming days prior to pulling any long trigger. Steven

IIG looks like a great play, already upped guidance with earnings coming in a few weeks.
The chart looks great, no reason it shouldnt challenge its 52 week high of 32 bucks.
I really like stocks that have already upped guidance and are only a few weeks away from earnings. Check out NVTL, they have upped guidance twice in the past 2 months. They make the EVDO cards for Sprint and Verizon.

i like STP and all the solar stocks (JASO, SPWR, TSL, FSLR) that are profitable. There's plenty of business for everyone at this point. Too much demand and not enough supply. There's a serious rally in solar stocks and many people don't even notice.

nice to hear from you. i got in and out, i just wanted to day trade it. i used a bad entry point so got in at 5.45 and got out at 5.42.
had i held it i could have gotten out at break even but i'm not complaining. TSL/JASO/JSDA working wonders for me today. i've been in and out of TSL like a 100 times today. is there a limit to how many times you can buy and sell one stock in a day.
ALOK...You'll have to take the "limit" thingy up with your accountant....he/she is the only one that has to deal with that. I've been assured that most brokers don't care though.

I agree with you about the options. I have been trading options for about a year and honestly I have lost money overall because as you said I am still working on a system.
I do believe once you have a system, options can be used along with stocks. I often use options if I want to trade high priced stocks like SHLD or ATI.

QQQQ's are almost at their 78.6%retrace line (44.79) from the last top to bottom at 44.6. Getting back to that line will also close the gap from that last downturn.
DIAmonds have actually made it all the way back to their 78.6% fib line (126.10) and are about 5 cent above it at 126.15.
Monday should be interesting.

Is that you? I am still holding DNDN and actually bought more. I still think, there is a good chance FDA will approved Provenge. If Dendreon receive a delay in approval, it might go down to 12. But then again, I could be sitting on stock that will double or triple this year. I see my odds at 80-90% full approval. I always say, it's a gamble. But as long as my odds is better than at Casino, I'll bet on this type of stock anytime.

I did buy some 200 shares at 23 and unload it at 18 because I bought it all margins and don't have enough to cover. But if I bought it all in cash I would be willing to ride it out until approval. I am not a day-trader like most of the people here but I can understand the need to protect your investment. For me the big question is when anyone is doing stock investing/trading: how much you can afford to risk. RISK/REWARD ratio.
Is it worth the risk for you to get that reward. Right now at 23.46 you would at most double your money if ever it gets approved. So in your opinion is it worth it?
The short answer is and most prudent one if you're a day-trader, sell it at highest possible price tomorrow and get back IN when it's low enough- say 16-17; or average down by buying more at every dip. That is if your ultimate game is just getting ahead with ,MINIMAL RISK. Again, risk/reward principle.
It's a slow-tedious process of making big money but you should find that "comfort level"-your own style of investing/trading-whether you want to play it long or short term. Whatever you chose, in my experience, the trick really is picking the right stock,
then knowing when to get in and when to get out. Easy to say but takes special skills to do. I learned a lot from this blog because I used to be just buy and hold long term, until a severe market corrections ravages my holdings and lost nearly 40%.Good luck and wish you the best.
SGV, buying on all margin is full of risks, and thats the reason we dont find markthe rat here.
Now, if you are trying to do active trading:
1) Read "Market Wizards: Interviews with Top Traders by Jack D. Schwager"
2) Open an account with IB. Start trading using their Free paper trading account (or $10/month if you don't generate 30 dollars in commissions). Trade until you are completely comfortable and reach about 75% winners.
If you are trying to go for long term trading:
1) Consider Vanguard funds - VWO, VDE, etc. I have them in my IRA and other retirement accounts.

Thanks for the concern. It was a very expensive lesson, lost $1000+ in that exchange, but that will reduce my capital gains next year. Anyway I am still ahead on DNDN so far. Just don't have enough time to daytrade.
Could not afford to give up my day job. Maybe a few more years. Anyway, what's your opinion on DNDN, I am still holding 1400 shares @17 ave. cost. Should I hold it all, sell some or bail out now?
SVG, i dont understand, at one point you say that your happy holding on to DNDN because you see a 100% profit potential and then at other times you ask if you should sell it. if your so confused about the holding then lighten the load a little and breath easier my friend. there is no point in loosing sleep over one stock. if you cannot take the excessive volatility of DNDN then its better to get out of it cause its one hell of a roller coaster ride. please read beanies comments on this, if your playing with the markets money then your good, or else consider selling. IMO it should go up at some point, right now a lot of people are booking their phenomenal gains in this stock. a natural cycle.

It was me that talked about the Egypt CMA ADRs. Egypt as a state has nothing to do with terrorism no more than China had to do with pearl harbour. Thankfully, I don't make trading decisions based off uneducated political opinions. Yes, if there is a afganistani ADR which would give me a 70% return yoy, then I would take it too.

Egypt still doesn't have any real democracy and is a military rule more on lines of any other extremist Islamic state like Pakistan. Its not a moderate Islamic state like Turkey.
