picked up some VMW late last night in AH trading. glad i did so! i expect it will come down a few dollars after being up $7 as I write this.
I'm now solidly green for the month...if you asked me thursday morning, I would have said impossible.
sold a little fcsx today, trying to sell a little of anything not nailed down here. selling feels awesome this morning, cash now 45% here and loving it. now UP 2% in august! whew! can I saw whew once more? I can - whew!!
saved the year here past few sessions...plenty of cash here. up in both july/august now (but not as much as july 19 though). I'll say whew one last time!

VMW will run kinda like GOOG. Won't be as big but it should get decently far.
Every tech buyer wants a piece of VMW. The door is too small. A big stampede is happening.
If ya gonna own tech, VMW is it. This is all i'm gonna be talking about today in the tech world. Everything else is second class right now. (Solars are always a nibble. I think they become kings next year.)

AGP looks like a great short sell...at $30...TSL reports tomorrow so either it goes to 55 or sinks back down to 40...all or nothing ...the IWM sept 80 put has a nice price channel...everytime IWM near $80 i buy the put and then sell it for $100 profit..
UNG tanked so got out at a loss...will try UNG again after falling knife signal disappears...

Do you guys believe this rally is legit? So many stocks are flying right back way too quickly.
Its hard to believe the worst is over already.
The tricky thing is if we are getting a rate cut then the worst isnt over. If we dont get a rate cut, I dont think Wall Street is going to be happy. Either way I dont see this rally continuing witout another hiccup.
of course I missed this rally so I am hoping I get another opp.
wow, VMW really came off its highs of the day.
even though the volume wasnt there, had best day of month primarily trading RIMM, FWLT, and TNH
tempted to take out shorts overnight cause I think we'll see a gap lower tomorrow but don't think I will.
No surprise that this rally started about the time that Kass was calling for new bear market. Kass has called for bear market and recession every year past three.
I still think recession prolly 50/50 at this point...lot of damage being done out there. A whole segment of the economy just not working at all and credit still not flowing. It is a time for caution and gravitating towards what can work in most economic environments.
By the way, my three contrarian sentiment indicators (equity P/C 21 day, bulls/bears survey and 3rd one I pay for) worked yet again. They have every sell-off since this move started spring '03. Every time! Keep going with it until it doesn't work.

As an aside, I was talking to my doorman today. The poor guy bought a house in queens last year with a 8.25% loan on the first mortgage and 10.25% on the piggy bank. He and his wife working 7 days a week to make the mortgage. The fact that dude's tenant hasn't paid rent in 9 months (and refuses to leave without court intervention) is not helping him either. I told him to walk away. He literally breaks down and goes "I put 14 yrs of my savings in that downpayment, i cant walk away now!".
The little guy always pays..always. Happened to him in 2001, happening to him again in 2007. All these wall street types have made their big bonuses and walked off. Wall Street: the biggest organized and legalized mafia.

First watch SPX 1480, we break this we go up bigtime.
Second, the Bradley data and I really trust it shows rally into mid October. Of course that will not be straight up, but as far as short shopping wait till September is out of the way. For now the long trade is the side to focus on.
And not in your life is subprime problems buried. We just got so oversold, NYSE summation index hit levels that it had to bounce.

Now regarding the solars, margins are shrinking fast for the solar industry as a whole as it'll be more affordable for the masses. Feedstock supply has another 9-12 months before it starts to relax. But by then, how many companys will blow up is the question.
This is a typical business cycle and I'm hoping for lower prices in near future.
CSUN, CSIQ, JASO, TSL, SOLF all needs to go out of business. REC, SPWR, STP, FSLR, LDK, WFR will survive. YGE still needs to prove its can remain a competitor.

If you're looking for 13950 on the Dow by mid October however I can't understand how you'd have to be that "selective" and a real "pro" to make a few bucks. Even a blind squirrel could seemingly catch an acorn in a 650 pt Dow move in a month and a half. If you truly believe your TA analysis on the market just buy a Dow ETF and I will guarantee you that you WILL make good money on that move...
