you can trade in an IRA, however, you are in a cash account...no margin...so you have to wait for trades to settle before you reuse your cash.
If you had 100K, but 50 to work then use the other 50 for liquidity. Even then you will eventually trade enough that you will have dead money...up to a week... while you wait for settlement

If it is an online broker, just read the recent earnings reports of TradeStation, Charles Schwab, E*Trade, etc.
Just look at the charts of these online brokers. All of them are reporting slow trading growth as feb market volatility has taken its toll on confidence. Even CME, the king of all exchanges is reporting slowing trading.
Plus, IBKR is the richest IPO of 2007.
Stay away till it goes till 16.

at this point i would not buy DNDN. In fact, i now own zero position. If the fda doesn't approve, you could see a $3 stock in premarket. Are you willing to risk that much? I wouldn't. It is a gamble not worth taking.
If DNDN is gonna be the next Amgen, there will be plenty of time to get in after the approval.

I think you could be wrong on DNDN, I feel sometimes you have a tendency just to focus more technical side more than the big picture. The more I dig into Dendreon and Provenge the more I am convinced of a very high potential not only as an investment but also will have a profound implications on fighting other forms of cancer. Dendreon have more drugs in the pipeline. The problem I find myself in day trading if I do make a lot of money is the short term tax. And as in your experience over the years, any time your trade can go sour. Odds do catch up eventually. Like I got fixated on RVBD which gave me huge returns,I think DNDN will far surpass my expectation. If I am wrong then there will be other opportunities, but again I really like my odds on holding DNDN.
If I have more money I'd be buying and holding, vlo, hans, aapl,ice and more dndn. I have doubts on jsda-probably a little bit over extended now, should allow better earnings and higher sales to justify the higher price. Just a few of my thoughts, GOOD LUCK!

Earnings conference is 5/10 4:30 Q3 2007. If they meet there estimate of .12 then as of the close friday they would have a p/e of 67 i believe i did that right. I'm going to hold through earnings and listen to the conference and see if it sounds good and decide what to do from there. Tempted to buy more tomorrow morning but we'll see
