The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. Solars are so hot, my eyes are hurtin!

Will you people invest in some solar, please???? Please? If nothing else, do it to support an industry that is righteous, ok? It will help save our planet, if we're not already too late.

C'mon, man, you just gonna sit and watch this sector rocket to the moon in the next few years? Are you insane? Tell me you gonna buy solars in 2012, just when they start tumbling down. Better yet, don't tell me anything. Buying solars in 2012 is like buying internets in early 2000. You get cracked and you get burned. Now is the time to get in, if you don't already own any.

How long have i been pumping solars for now? How long???!! Just about every freakin day for over a year now!

You don't believe it? Fine. You go ahead and short them to your demise.

Here's the sunny list:

FSLR
SPWR
STP
TSL
LDK
YGE
JASO

There are others, but start with those above. The top three i like the most are FSLR, SPWR and STP.

Beanie,

Considering value play and growth, YGE should be at first place. And It was the last Chinese solar IPO but it has the most percetage of institutional holings. and the institutional holding percetages get higher and higher with days going on. Other Chinese solars only have a few percetage of inst. holding.

Pivotal event early Monday morning for SNUS. Currently at $4.35. Phase 3 study results to be announced on TocP. If it proves superiority (probability = 20%), we will see $12-$15. If we see NI (probability = 60%), we will see $6-8. If we see failure, we see the $2s.

Either way, money to be made EARLY Monday morning. Good luck, peeps.

I am interested in an option call on LDK expiring end of October @ $75.00. I am looking to put up $500 on or before Oct 1 with the option expiring end of October. How many shares would I leverage and if LDK is at say $90.00 by then what is my potential upside or downside?

In general, options are a losing proposition by far and should be avoided altogether. You can put in 50% of your principal in a big stock like GOOG and still sleep well at night, but when it comes to options you have no choice but to buy many positions with options (even with safe stocks) and that inherently lowers your overall return. You can never sleep well with an open options position. Time is always eating at your arse, no matter how deep in the money you buy. Hey, you might get lucky with an options play and strike it big but longer term the "casino" eats your arse alive. Remember that over 90% of options expire worthless (and many of the deep in the money options get cut rather dramatically if the underlying stock does nothing or goes in the opposite direction).

Stay away from options. It's truly a losing proposition. If you make less than an overall 100-200% return on your principal (the money you started out in your account) per year, then options is not worth the risk. With very savy stock plays, you can match supposed big option returns and with much less risk.

Beanie, I value your advice. What are your concerns about JASO? Why is it not in your top 3? thank you...also what think you of JRJC?

I like beannies percent breakdown.. If you are not making 50% return year over year buying stocks, do not try to open an options contract, on your own...just wait patiently, for one to be discussed on this board, and invest in that one...
Example HAR OCT 70 thru 80 CALLS ...I’m sure will be discussed, at some point during this next week..

What savvy stock plays you say? Look at BIDU, over 200% return year to date. (Oh yeah, it's going to $1000 is my take.) Look at VMW, a stock everybody wanted you to buy the day of ipo - now up about 60% from the opening price of $50. What about RIMM? RIMM is another 200+% year to date. Same goes for AMZN - over 200% gains year to date. And guess what? There were many more monsters like those named above - MA and UA, to name a few!!!!!

I ask you now, why waste precious time with options?????????? Why?? Why???

Beanie,

With FED giving push to inflation do you suggest some Anti-Inflationary stocks? Like in metals/materials or anything that will rise with falling dollar?

Also Beanie, what impact inflation would have on Chinese, European, Solar and Tech in general.

stocky,

I am not hot into metals because i can't really distinguish one company from another. At least with oils i know where i get my gas - Valero. If i venture into metals, i would look into the etfs, i.e. SLV for silvers or GLD for golds. I think metals are overextended for the time being and possibly due for a correction. I think oils are kinda overextended as well, for the time being.

European and Chinese stocks are due for a correction is my opinion. But longer term, i agree with Jim Rogers that China stays hot. Can't lose with BIDU?

I am now mainly focused on USA techs, and solar stocks even though solars are a little overextended short term.

I think next week is going to be ok. Many funds' managers are going to do window dressing.October is going troublesome. They have to sell to generate cash to pay redamptions. What's your thoughte?

I will be shorting all Gold stocks, the timing I am not sure on yet...The link between inflation (assuming we will see any) and gold prices is a slippery slope.

I'm feelin it big that YGE will see $40.

JASO is at all time high this morning.

TSL performing nicely.

FSLR - i got no doubts this monster will see $200 faster than a locomotive.

SPWR - another monster of a leader.

STP - slow for now but when it breaks out it will be huge.

LDK - feel the power!
