Wed morning Lehman will announce earnings. If they are aweful and the stock tanks, first thing you want to do is to short BSC because its earnings is Thursday and should disappoint as well.

Beanie one other question, after 11800, why is the next support level being termed at 11500? I cant find any such support in the charts but then i think i must not be looking at it correctly.
A very important 1400 level on S&P was breached yesterday and it was all downhill from there.
Look for S&P to hold 1370 today.
If not, we will have some down turn tomorrow.

MSFT news on gaming is really good. But for markets to turn around we need some really really sharp sell offs. If now you read headlines like "Dow down 500 points in three days", then you know its time to start looking for bargains.

gosu - i trade around a list of about 100 stocks in all sectors, some precious metals too. I focus on about a top 10 equities. unfortunately, none of which are discussed here.
BOOM is my single best pick of my top 10. I believe it is undervalued by as much as 100%. I have a 1 yr target of $68. I swing trade around a long term hold. I also have reason to believe it is either the target of private equity or an acquisition who will more fairly value the firm.
Just trying to thoughtfully raise awareness of BOOM.

I'm short ICE big time. It's amazing how this thing can't keep a few points down on any day. It bounces up 16 times faster than it goes down. Mirrors every one of the market's directional moves perfectly. What's the cover target on ICE? I'm out at $116.00.

As we were discussing yesterday evening that we are at some important support levels. Mainly 1370 for S&P. You can always expect to bounce some from S&P.

I would suggest switching to IB for solve your problem. (If you are not already) I had this problem a few years back, but the "Close all positions" button on IB removes all emotions from trading and protects your profits at the same time.
Jake don't take it too hard buddy, i mean how would you know. today's mkt was so volatile that i would never have guessed we would be up 50 points at the end of the day. hell i was voting 150 down lol. we have to imp lessons here on this board today and both have to do with timing your trade. Gosu got out of ASTI too soon man did that stock go up today. now lets hope for a correction so that i can get in :-)

Thanks DJFSMR. I totally agree with you. ASTI is for long term investment. I am not planning to sell my shares even if it hits $10. The company has only 5.3 million shares. Zero debt. Less than 20 employees. At least 2 Ph.D. on board. "The company's target customers include traditional aerospace companies, companies in the defense and communications industries, and domestic and foreign government entities."

Well, nice close we got today due to the double bottom that held.
I still have them sweet FSLR long, besides a core position. Alternative stocks, especially solar, rallied nicely towards the close.
Looks like the bulls are safe for a short time. We likely gonna go sideways to up this week and much of next week.

Gosu, are you sure about your calculation for the 1500 shares of LMT. I think you might be off a little, could the cost be 1+ 0.75 = $1.75, I know that its $1 for the first 500 shares, and then they charge some extra for each additional share. I've been using IB for more than a yr and i've never seen a commision of $7 (it just seems a little high to me, besides 1500 * 0.0005 = 0.75).
I apologize Alok, I have to say that you haven't been trading enough to know how much IB charges per trade.
Believe me I make like 2000 stock trades per year and I know what I am talking about.

So, I pay 2 to 5 dollars round trip in most cases, instead of 14 with scottrade.
Also, bracket order functionality among a host of things is missing with scottrade.
I am soooo close to getting that dish package, will probably get it after I miss some action :-)

On your calculator you enter 57.9 (hit minus sign) type 19 ( hit % key). That equals 46.8
Go back to FSLR FEB 26 …. Hi was 52.7
On your calculator you enter 52.7 (hit minus sign) type 19 (hit % key)
That equals 42.6….Guess what? Matches Mar 5th low. 42.7….

I'm assuming FSLR hit this cycles high at 57.9.
Here’s another possible FSLR HIGH.
FSLR climbed 90% in the last cycle (27.5 UP TO 52.7)
FSLR mar 5 low 42.6 + 90% = 80.9 very doubtful. I think I can throw out 73 thru 90 this cycle.
Calculate like this (enter 42.6) hit (+ sign) (enter 90) hit (% sign ) = 80.9 doubtful.
MOST likely this cycle….42.6 + 45% = 61.7 hi this cycle….
45% number grabbed from WFR……
