The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. I have no affiliations with any broker/dealer and all posts are for educational purposes only. Cramer said to buy CSCO right thru earnings.

CSCO closed @ 24.68

He's been on fire with picking big caps going into earnings. I would give him the benefit of the doubt on CSCO as well.

The nice thing about placing a bet long on CSCO is that it's a relatively safe bet. CSCO is a huge stock in the right sector. Even if you're wrong, you won't get hit too badly.

Buy small (maybe 400-500 shares) and hold into earnings this Wednesday after the bell. If Cramer turns out to be right in his assessment, you score a decent amount of lunch money. (Or you can hold CSCO for the longer term for a very decent investment.)

CSCO is one of those stocks where you can risk buying some on margin.

anonymous,

SMSI is still a short unless it closes above 16.

The market has been overwhelming the shorts the last 2 days. If we keep on going up like this, shorting anything is not the way to go.

i have no position in SMSI, in either direction, although i'm lookin for a dip for re-entry.

OMG buy if you like, but if it goes below 48, you need to get out. I would stay away because of the brutal drop 2 days ago. Limited upside for the time being.

You had talked about ctxs as a buy on several occations the last week or so. Do you still feel it is a buy at this time?

I saw heavy accummulation at $7.4-$7.6 on BRLC. Why is it everytime Cramer is negative on stocks the stock goes up? I always make money on stocks he is negative and have lost a lot of money when he is positive on a stock.

Look at his recommendation on WFMI. Horrible.

CTXS offers another great entry here. Give it one more day of dipping.

BRLC: you know, it's ok to take profits on the dip you bought this morning. Really, it's ok.

anonymous,

you have to forgive Cramer sometimes. The guy is so loaded with stocks in his head that no way he can assess everyone of them adequately. He is a sector player. Hdtv is not a hot sector. He only got 3 seconds to give his synopsis of BRLC yesterday. And we don't really know whether he was also referring to the long term. Short term he was correct on recommending ringing the register, because BRLC was overbought.

With the market so overbought short term, i wouldn't be surprise profit taking starts this afternoon. (It's ok to hold CSCO though)

dave,

i think CTXS is a good buy, but let it drop one more day. Preferably, i want a correction in the market before entering.

Blogger beanie11111 said...

BRLC: i really do not suggest you go dip buying today, because you would be going against all the daytrader shorts of the world. Stocklemon is the love of the shorts.

Tue Nov 07, 01:29:00 PM EST
Blogger beanie11111 said...

BRLC: i suggest you short the stock along with all the shorts. Cover at a break above 7.62 . Play small though.

brett,

if the market reverses, you can pretty much short any stock. Should make ya money, if you're right about the market. Stocks like MA, AKAM, DIVX, EBAY, etc. are all short term overbought.

Really suprised you mentioned stocklemon. That guy was short BRLC in the six dollar range. Just wanted to pass it to the readers.

Insiders have been selling this stock @2. Like all companies insiders sell stock. If you sold with them you missed the run to $8.

Alot of people feel like kickin stocklemon's arse. They ruin stocks so badly at times. It's hard to know whether they're tellin the truth. If they are, it could get stocks halted by the SEC (you know alot of shorts love no more than emailing the SEC trying to get them to halt stocks) , which would devastate the stock. Therefore, regardless of what Stocklemon says, alot of investors tend to stay away because they don't want to risk losing near 100% of their money.
