The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns.
I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. NYX earnings doesn't seem that impressive, at first glance.
That lady on CNBC: 'Science is based on fact'?
lol
Then why is science constantly changing????
That lady is so stupid i wanna kick her arse. lol
mark,
well, i'm glad you didn't plunge into NYX with full margin. lol
Beanie and his advice sucks!!!!! Follow his advice and lose all your money.
Beanie,
Do you classify RIMM as tech?
beanie, i'll take you up on your burger bet from yesterday :-) not that i doubt your skills, its just that all the world mkts are up today so i like my chances of us being positive today
Alok
(new blogger)
alok,
you may be right. Would you like that hamburger first class or priority?
:)
oh my your toast, the job report was awesome :-) i declare myself winner even before day end hahahaha. i'm afraid it might have to be first class i'm in the midwest freezing my ass.
hhahaa yeah beanie...although it might just be another shake out of retail investors.....
-markrat
We not gonna get a selloff today due to the job unemployment numbers.
No tech wreck today!
NYX a buy here at 99.25?
or wait til the market opens?
-markrat
beanie..do u like any of these?
(REFR, LAVA, PTNR, WEBX, CUTR, GILD)
-markrat
mark,
Off of your list, i like WEBX the most. I should do very well by year end.
NYX: let's find a spot on this gap down for a long entry for a daytrade. See if it dips some more.
If MSFT goes below 30, that is a sure sign that tech wreck is coming
You know what? i may end up winning the cheeseburgers afterall.
we'll see
NYX: low 97 may be a good buy here
thanks beanie, it's not my list though it's from kirkreport.com
-markrat
techs look weak today
Beanie is right. tech wreck coming. I am out of all my long positions. Just sitting now earning 5% in my brokerage account.
MSFT goes below 30, all hell brakes loose.
CNBC is way nutty. They keep on trying to get the retail investors in trouble. The pump before the dump. lol
Cmon guy, "tech wreck" why? b/c you just have a feeling. Please.
Tech wreck isn't confirmed until we close negative in a big way.
AAPL looks like a short here
84.85
I trust Beanie's instincts. He's got his finger on the pulse!
NYX: it be really sweet if it closes +
beanie just follows cramer. not very impressive. remember when XNN was going to be the next TASR? Going to 10? lol!
I was talking to gosu, the "tech crash" will not just happen without reason or warnings. Sorry I don't listen to people with "gut" feelings, give me facts. Beanie confirmed his signal.
damn it beane, i cant even win a lunch, i thought i had it in my bad. you cant win with all these odds against you, it just wont be fair :)
SWIR is a buy here.
I dunno about the rest of you folks, but it sure doesn't seem like the techs are participating in this rally ever since days before GOOG took a beating.
Beanie, What say you of AAPL?
It keeps on climbing, and crushing my short!
:_(
Hi anyone got any suggestions on opbl.ob earings tuesday trading at 6.15 right now. Would like to hear beanie's take on it,
elmyko
Go BRLC! Up 11% yesterday.. tack on some more today.
I've been watching OPBL closely. I am waiting for a drop to mid $5s before getting back in. I was in last week @ $5.41, out yesterday at $6.26. Excellent long term, but expect many swings along the way.
P Diddy
hey beenie, i jsut bought lmra..what do u think about it here? boucning off the 200mva
AAPL's steve jobs is guilty of options backdating is my opinion. If he weren't, there would be no need to do an "internal investigation". Why waste the time and money, especially if the SEC is already investigating?
anonymouses,
Regarding OPBL, i would take 1/2 off the table if you insist on going thru earnings.
Regarding AAPL, i still have a short at the high 84
Beanie
Whats your opinion on MAMA
Is it a buy at these levels
thanx
Innerstruggle
Innerstruggle,
MAMA may bounce a little, but after that, it's gonna go lower.
Stay away
Beanie,
GOOG is already overpriced to me. I do not see it going higher.
As regards the crash, here is what I am looking at:
1) The major markets of the world:
HangSeng is at an all time high
Dow is at an all time high
German DAX is at its 7 year high
Chinese Composite is near all time high
Indian Sensex. is at an all time high
S&P is at its 7 year high
Nasdaq is near its 7 year high.
Japan Nikkei is near its 7 year high
I am not taking a contrarian view, but I think that all markets are due for a correction.
2) Chart Analysis:A simple chart analysis of the SPY and QQQQ for the last 5 years will tell you that they have been moving in an uptrending channel. If you draw a line at the tops and bottoms of the SPY and QQQQ, you will find that it now sitting at the top of that line.
The signal I am looking for is MST closing below 30.
I mean MSFT
Is BRLC a buy here
Its already gone up a lot
Whats better between OPBL and BRLC
short term
I have money sitting idle and want to put it into a stock
Innerstruggle
Thanx Beanie
Does anyone care to know what i contend is the major cause of infertility?
Innerstruggle,
i feel more comfortable you get in ONNN instead, even though it's a tech. By year end, it should do very well.
Major cause of infertility:
Stress.
Other causes:
high fructose corn syrup
alcohol
hydrogenated oil
if you don't follow your instict you are doomed.
After doing this for 12 yrs..I rely heavily on instinct and gut feeling and it's served me very well.I like beanster cuz he has the knack..this is like science it's always changing.
Tha Jew
Let us have it Beanie.
CLRK is a gimme short..too much volume yesterday and the schills are defending it.
Tha Jew
Beanie. what do you think about TMTA?
stress and lack of sex! :)
-markrat
my small penis not going deep enuf??
Tha Jew
Combo of stress and increase in weight, which produces more estrogen (less testosteron) in your body.
MAJOR CAUSE OF INFERTILITY:
No, it's not hydrogenated oil, high fructose corn syrup, or alcohol. Many people who are infertile do not take alcohol. Hydrogenated oil and fructose corn syrup, everybody takes them and they also take plenty of it in other countries. Stress is too general.
I'm gonna tell ya the secret, but please don't go around embarrassing , hurting, or taking advantage of other people with the knowledge. Else, "doom on you" with bad karma.
I'll tell ya next week.
Weight increase, they said it on the Adam Corolla show this morning. You gain weight, you increase your estrogen levels.
no, it's not weight gain. ALot of people who are infertile (or having a hard time conceiving) are skinny.
APKT
What's your view Beanie?
I know I know...because I'm the white man and I'm bad?
lol, got nothin to do with race either. lol
anon,
APKT should bounce a little from here
tick tock tick tock!!!
Tech crash clock: MSFT at 30.40
Alarm rings at 29.99
smoking marijuana seeds, for sure.
I think the major cause for men is condoms.
And for women: Coathangers
NYX: amazing!!
NYX: that's it! Time to get out near 102
Leadin cause of infertility is ------------------>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
"TOUGH LUCK"
-M

Hey beanie, so how do you wanna do this, looks like i am winning half n you are winning half. dow is down and nasd is up (i know just barely) .... so when can i expect to get half my burger :-_
alok,
You send me the burger i send you the cheese? lol
that sounds like a good deal considering what is happening today. man i cant believe it, i've sold so much today, just booking profits cause its looking harder for the mkt to move higher every day. i hope your right about the correction (note i didn't use crash, i would die if we had a crash here)
so what do we do about the bun beanie or should we just use the letuce wrap hahahaha
i still own AAPL shorts in the high 84. I think it could go lower on Monday
I'll think of shorting stuff on monday, btw QSII looks like it might pull back some if we have weakness on monday. I sold ATI today after holding it or about a month, i might be able to short it for a couple of points if it breaks 100.
n e thoughts?
Beanie, GMKT and OPTM, which one do u like better?
anon,
on technicals alone, i like GMKT more
TMTA did quite well today.
die NYX die!!!
anon,
TMTA is so yesterday
Once again, XNN has put a huge smile on my face today!
whooohoo, i got in on TMTA at .89 yesterday, today markey close at 1.03.. 15% . not so bad
I am new to your blog. Thanks for your efforts. What do you make of BOOM? Recent run up, crossed the 50 and 200...positive divergence in MACD and OBV...RSI looks overbought. They have been crushed in last 6 mos. Record earns expected... What say you? Thanks again, Jim
The train wreck is coming. GOOG moving down aggressively with good earnings is a tell tale sign. AAPL is cratering because of options backdating. SNDK has already moved down. Semiconductor is a mess.
I wouldn't be surprised by a black Monday next week. We need a good correction to move higher.
The train wreck can be a golden opportunity to buy. Techs are due to a correction, overbought, overpriced. Unless you bought these stocks on a margin, then you don't have to worry on long term prospects.
Goog still has a very sound business plan and practice, still making tons of money. I wouldn't buy goog today. But IF they ever go down to $450, might be worth buying for me.
AAPL has clearly a superior technology and innovations in their field. Some tech observers are predicting that they would match or overtake MSFT in earnings by 2010 based on the rate of earnings and revenue. I am waiting to buy when it appear to bottom out. The market has a way of sorting out the best in the business. And Technology stocks will always be one of the best sector to invest, because there is no going back and innovations and advancements in techs will keep on coming in our lifetime.
From AAPL message board:
'The Times February 03, 2007
# Company cites SEC investigation
# Possibility of more restatements
Apple has given warning that it could be removed from the highly regarded Nasdaq Global Select Market, as the maker of iPod and Macintosh acknowledged for the first time that it was the subject of a federal investigation into its stock option practices.
The company, which last June revealed “irregularities” in its stock option grants and took an $84 million (£43 million) charge six months later, said that the investigation by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) could lead to further restatements and delays to its financial reporting.
*
“The resolution of these matters will be time consuming, expensive and will distract management from the conduct of the company’s business,” Apple said yesterday in a regulatory filing. “Furthermore, if the company is subject to adverse findings in litigation, regulatory proceedings or government enforcement actions, the company could be required to pay damages or penalties to have other remedies imposed, which could harm its business, financial condition, results of operations and cashflows.”
Apple also noted that the investigation could “subject the company to a potential delisting from the Nasdaq Global Select Market”. That market, which started last July, comprises about one third of the companies listed on the Nasdaq exchange. Membership confers an extra degree of respectability on a company’s accounting and corporate governance proceedures and, accordingly, gives investors an increased level of confidence.
The SEC is investigating the way that Apple accounted for “backdated” options, which the company has admitted that it granted to key employees, including Steve Jobs, the chief executive. The most sensitive case under investigation relates to options granted to Mr Jobs in December 2001. The award was backdated to October, when Apple’s share price was lower, thereby guaranteeing a much bigger profit for Mr Jobs if the options were cashed in.'

I just cannot see AAPL not trading in the 80-82 area, and possibly to 70 if we get a decent market correction.
We gonna short AAPL on all rises until it can reverse the bad news.
Just like I said, bad news for AAPL today, will be a golden opportunity.
Temporary setbacks for a very good company comes and go. Without this temporary crisis, there would be very few chances to buy in at the lowest possible price.
Beanie,
Sounds like you're bashing the stock you highly recommended a week ago!LOL
I still like AAPL alot for a long term investment. However, it would be illogical to insist on staying long and not take advantage of what i believe is gonna happen - down down down in the short/intermediate term.
