AAPL had a nice reversal yesterday.
The stock may have bottomed immediate term but it is not out of the woods yet. As such, i'm still shorting the stock on any rise. There are still alot of resistance upstairs.

The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. I have no affiliations with any broker/dealer and all posts are for educational purposes only. AAPL:
Don't short yet. Wait to see if there's a possible rally after the open.
DELL: is a short term buy. Trading at 25.38 premarket. See if it dips before buying.
wow, will GOOG break into new highs today!!???
NYX: earnings is tomorrow morning
mark,
my goodness, doesn't this goog move makes ya want to pull your hair and slam your computer?? lol
Beanie,
Do u think NYX is a buy ahead of earnings?
GOOG: Eric Bolling said to buy GOOG after earnings and it looks like everybody's buying.
anonymous,
I have a position in NYX and plan to hold it thru earnings. This is a longer term hold for me, at least thru 2007.
NYX: if you're just daytrading or swingtrading NYX, i suggest you wait till after earnings to buy.
i got into google at 494 so it looks like i will make a decent short term profit
GOOG: if i be a bettin man, i say it closes above 515 today.
As long as GOOG is leading today, i'd be wary about shorting techs in general.
As stated yesterday, i have a long position in both NYX and AAPL (among others). I'm staying long on both, and shorting AAPL when if there is good entry.
[Alot of brokerages do not allow going both long and short on the same stock. You can get around it by opening 2 accounts.)
beanie should u buy goog again? i need to make back this 1500 badly.
-markrat
HOLY F****, it's 515 premarket!?!??!?!

i KNEW this would happen, i just KNEW it.
-markrat

mark,
don't buy goog just yet. Wait out the first 30 minutes and see what happens.
do u think NYX is a good buy before earnings....i want to do my stupid move again of 100% cash + 100% margin.....could have made good money on goog if it wasn't for the panic selling.....oh well...
-mark the rat
GOOG traders turned into whipped cream! lol
mark,
c'mon man, 100% cash into NYX if you're starving fiend but please no margin. I still want to see ya on this blog. lol

Beanie or anyone
Is MAMA a buy here
it looks like a reversal
opinions???
MAMA looks good to me. Got in at 4.52 thanks!!
A market correction should be coming within the next week or two. Keep on shorting stuff that are going up.
Beanie11111,
Could you comment on NUVO after its month down from 4ish? Still a hold or dump it?
Thanks.
This could be it, folks! This could be the day when we tiptoe to the edge and about to fall?
anonymous,
NUVO looks like it's reversing to the upside. Slow though.
what do you think of AVAV here at 22.07
kevin,
i dont like AVAV here. Going lower.
Bean, is XING a buy here? thanks
Beanie,
What do u think of RIMM? Going lower?
HI Beanie,
I have 2 tech stocks that are down 25%. Do you think i should get rid of it now, in case of a crash?
anonymous,
RIMM should be headed higher as long as the markets not correcting.
Cramer is defending the markets.
CLRK thanks fro da money.
Love,
Tha Jew
Assume the markets are headed higher until we correct.
thanks for ignoring me beanie
Beanie, what is your background? Work experience / trading for any large firm?
wilmer,
you should have bought at 15.90 like i did! :-)
Beanie, Would AAPL be a buy here? Or is it still going to go down?
beanie,
do you think NYX will have a major gap up after earnings? i'm hoping it won't be another GOOGLEYDUMP. i'm on 100% cash + 100% margin for NYX.
-markrat
Hi Beanie & Board,
AITX.OB: Found this about a month ago. Now at .90 from .50 in mid Jan. Interesting product. I don't have a position and I know Beanie doesn't play in the cat box with OB's but looks like some decent movement. Any thoughts?
Bob
GOOG is a buy right here at 489. Swing it.
GOOG: dont buy! Cramer
wilmer?
mark,
I rather you not buy NYX just for a daytrade thru earnings. You can get hurt.
But it's up to you.
Second time a charm? lol
If Cramer thinks that GOOG could get to 450, you can definately extrapolate that AAPL will see 80-82.
We gonna take opportunity tomorrow to short AAPL again on any rise.
Alrighty, i'm outta here.
I have a long position in NYX. Longer term hold for me.
Tech stocks will get hit. Be prepared.
hahah beanie, what's with the post on the NYX board about removing margin......someone commented back about you being a fraud and a scammer...lol
-markrat
I am willing to bet anyone here a cheeseburger that we get a selloff tomorrow
beanie if you think NYX is going down why are u holding and not getting in after a drop?
-markrat
markrat,
I think it may correct after earnings, but you oughta know that earnings plays are a crapshoot. I wish it would tank so i can add to my position. But if it gaps up, i wanna be there too, by holding a position. Holding no position is not a good play if you're planning on holding NYX for the longer term. If the stock gaps up, you'll be paying up.
thanks beanie, i dumped it.... i dont need a googleydump 2 days in a row......let's see how earnings plays out.....
-markrat
I will take you up on that bet. In fact I will be in Calif. the last part of next week to collect. Gonna be 25 below this weekend in SD. Looking forward to some Calif. sunshine!!!
boy the people on that yahoo message board (for almost all stocks) are such LOSERS and MORONS and LIARS....people posting already about NYX being up 8 bucks after hours....clearly NOT true....at least not yet....
i can't stand people..they suck!
-markrat
wow google was a great short today......i wanted to but didn't have the balls.
-mark rat
do u agree with this beanie?
stockman201: I am using your two relevent post about the future estimates, useful comparisons, your intelligent post, and an excellent post has how Investors like you perform part of "DD" when it comes to investing.
Again, thank you for these post, because shorts will never really provide any factual data like you have provided here.
In Thain we trust by delivering the bulls with massive capital gains as LONG TERM INVESTORS, and don't worry about short term price movements that are out of favor.
===================================================== =====
If you want to run a comparison you have to compare it to CME, not big cap tech or telecom, the NYSE does not sell silicon wafers or fiber optic phone lines.
CME:
Q1 '03 Rev 136 mill .77 EPS
Q2 '03 Rev 142 mill 1.03 EPS
Q3 '03 Rev 135 mill .93 EPS
Q4 '03 Rev 132 mill .87 EPS
Q1 '04 Rev 166 mill 1.35 EPS
Q2 '04 Rev 187 mill 1.66 EPS
Q3 '04 Rev 192 mill 1.72 EPS
Q4 '04 Rev 188 mill 1.64 EPS
Q1 '05 Rev 214 mill 2.04 EPS
Q2 '05 Rev 239 mill 2.36 EPS
Q3 '05 Rev 234 mill 2.22 EPS
Q4 '05 Rev 233 mill 2.18 EPS
Q1 '06 Rev 263 mill 2.61 EPS
Q2 '06 Rev 295 mill 3.12 EPS
Q3 '06 Rev 275 mill 2.95 EPS
Q4 '06 Rev 281 mill 2.91 EPS
This is organic growth and cost cutting only at the CME. NYX merged with AX and now Euronext, the cost savings are HUGE and it all falls to the bottom line. Now, about Volume, here are some volume stats and studies:
According to Goldman Sachs, exchanges that have switched to electronic trading have seen trading volume increase by an average of 90% in the four years since electronic trading was launched. http://cramersez.com/
NYX Volume benchmarks: http://www.nyse.com/about/history/102222...
1 million 1886
5 million 1928
10 million 1929
50 million 1978
100 million 1982
500 million 1987
1 billion 1997
2 billion 2001
3 billion 2005
CME is the model to watch. In the 4 yrs since they went public they've more than doubled Revenue and more than tripled EPS. How did they do this? Cost cutting and margin expansion and now they are merging with BOT to continue the cost cutting synergies. CME still carries a 50+ multiple.
NYX's EPS is going to grow even faster than CME's did becuase of:
1) organic growth thru electronic trading (hybrid) in addition to a strong market in general
2) cost cutting synergies from AX and now Euronext
3) new products, cross listings etc...
NYX:
Q1 '06 478 mill .24 EPS
Q2 '06 659 mill .39 EPS
Q3 '06 602 mill .43 EPS
Q4 '06 .46 Estimate, will probably come in a touch higher
2007: 2.27 estimate, this is a very conservative number taken from the S-4 filings with the SEC. Thain isnt stupid, they low balled all the cost cutting numbers and revenue projections.
2008: I havent seen any estimates for '08
2009: Cramer is sticking to his $12 EPS. This is a very aggressive number but even if they only do $10 EPS that kind of growth will carry a multiple similar to CME which is 50+ and that gives you $500 a share in '09 even if you cut these numbers down to say $8 EPS and a 40 multiple you still get $320 a share. No matter how you slice it NYX is not only going higher, its going MUCH higer.
i just worry that by 2009 the multiple will not be as high
