The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. too late to buy today. Wait for a dip or a break above today's high.
seems like the gap up was a trap for longs in VLO
VLO is now short term overbought. You should have sold on the huge gap up.
Let's see what happens at the end of the day before touching this stock again.

a gap up this huge always get sold. VLO has been running for about 3 days now. I do not recommend buying today.

Yes, i believe VLO bottomed, but doesnt mean you should buy on the 2 point gap up. If you do, you will likely have to wait for your profits. If you are holding longer term, then obviously, you can buy here or even at the 2 point gap up.
Note that i usually speak from a daytrading or swingtrading perspective. If i am daytrading VLO, no way in hell i'm gonna buy that huge gap up (unless of course if the stock breaks above this morning's high today). If swingtrading, i may wait till the stock dips near 50 (which it kinda did earlier) before buying. If daytrading, i can also buy in the low 50 as well.
VLO is going higher. I just didn't want you guys to buy the 2 point gap up.

I suggest you folks own some DIVX for the intermediate to longer term. Visit their website to find out what they're all about.
I think they should fire Bob Pisani on CNBC. That guy offers nothing substantive and is usually a good contrarian indicator. lol
I can't imagine DIVX stops running after today. Any technician can tell ya that it's headed higher in the days ahead. Remember it got only 9 million shares or so on the float.
I do not believe DIVX is the next AKAM , because DIVX uses AKAM for their own website. But i do believe DIVX will see north of $30 this year.
i think we should get a morning dip tomorrow and early noon, which is a good time to reload on the stocks you like.
