The last few years have been great to me, as i was able to clobber the S&P500 many times in returns. But of course, you can't make a living trading the markets if you don't make great great returns. I'll try to give my readers trades that i think will make them money. However, you need to have money management skills, in order not to lose everything on a greedy or stupid trade. I may or may not already be in the trades i recommend. I may or may not trade the stocks i recommend. Due diligence is required on your part and the usual disclaimer that i am not responsible for your losses always apply. MOBL ?? oops Tempe’s wireless plan hits a snag
May 26, 2005
By Dennis Welch, Tribune
Tempe’s quest to become the first in the country to offer citywide wireless broadband Internet service has hit interference. A state agency with the power to delay the project is investigating the company hired to build and maintain a citywide system for operating without a license.

The Arizona Registrar of Contractors ordered the probe last week after taking complaints that MobilePro Corp. was not registered with the state.

City officials said the company doesn’t need a general contractors license and plans to move forward.

"Really in my mind this is unfounded to begin with, they’re not doing any construction," said Dave Heck, deputy manager of information technology for the city.

He said the company should be treated like other communications firms that do not need a license to build wireless systems because they plan to use a subcontractor to install the network.

However, after reviewing city records, Alan Felber, chief of licensing off- icer for the registrar’s office, asked for an investigator to be assigned. He said companies that build onto existing infrastructure must register with the state.

To construct the wireless network, MobilePro plans to add infrastructure — such as antennas — to city-owned stoplights and street lamps.

Although the registrar’s office cannot stop Tempe from building a system, it has the authority to stop MobilePro from working in the state, Felber said.

If the investigation finds MobilePro is violating the law and shuts it down, the city could be forced to search for a new company.

"Our main concern is protecting the consumer," Felber said.

By hiring a licensed contractor, he said the customer has more protection. For example, Felber said, the state requires licensed companies to carry bonds to safeguard the customer if the company goes out of business. Additionally, he said customers can track the history of licensed companies to determine their creditability.

Representatives with MobilePro were not available for comment Wednesday.

Wireless Internet technology — also known as WiFi — offers high-speed Internet access via wireless computers. The networks are mainly confined to coffeehouses and other businesses where users are within a few feet of the access point. Improvements are making it possible to expand the coverage area.

Last month, the City Council awarded the contract to the Bethesda, Md.-based company over several larger companies such as media giant America Online.

City officials said they don’t know how much it would cost to install the broadband network.

The project is expected to deliver wireless service to more than 65,000 households, 1,100 businesses and 50,000 Arizona State University students.

While the city would not be the first to offer WiFi, it would be the first to offer a citywide service. Other communities such as Chicago, Philadelphia and New York have systems covering parts of their cities.

The wireless system currently covering downtown Tempe ran into problems, including dead spots where users are unable to log onto the Internet. Those problems have been fixed.

In the Valley, Phoenix and Scottsdale are planning to expand wireless Internet connections in their central cores. Tempe, with its links to ASU, is the furthest along.

Recommendation #1 : NEOM - called at .30 before it went up 150% in less than 2 weeks.

Recommendation #2 : MOBL - called at .21 before it went up almost 100% in less than 2 weeks.

Recommendation #3 : HISC - called at .01 before it went up 400% within 3 weeks.

Recommendation #4 : AMRE - called at .04 before it went up 500% within 2 days.

---------

Recommendation #5: OBDP - called at 1.09 before it ..............let's wait and see...

Recommendation #6: LLLI - called at $3 before it .......... let's wait and see......

I expect no different outcome from both Recommendation #5 and Recommendation #6.

Rottenstock,

The best thing to do is if you plan to hold into earnings, is to buy puts to hedge your position. If you have 1000 shares, then buy 10 contracts at or slightly out of the money, etc....

Otherwise, it is better to watch what happens after earnings before buying.

** Ok folks, let's get something very clear here so that we aren't confused that this is not 1999 where everything goes up and up and away and everybody wins.

Even though i called LLLI at $3, and thinks that it will head to $10, somebody who bought in at $4.50 today is probably really upset because of the selloff. I can't control what other traders will do on a day to day basis. There are traders who bought under $3 or even under $2, and hey, maybe they want to take some profits of the table. Or maybe the insiders want to sell some too. Or maybe daytraders wanted their profits after buying when the market opened. I can't control these things. My call for LLLI was at $3, so it is best to buy it at that price or close to it. (By the way, the selloff earlier today, offers a great opportunity to buy it at close to the price everybody here bought it at.)

My initial target for OBDP and LLLI still stands, unless something about their fundamentals changes negatively. That goes for all the Recommendations as well. I am not Tobin Smith. I don't get to speak to the CEO individually and know what is coming. Regardless, i try my best to predict the upside potential of the stock as both a trader and an investor. I also know when to get out when things don't pan out, either fundamentally or technically, and i will try my best to let you guys know what i am thinking. For example, this morning i said to sell another 1/2 of AMRE when it breaks down .12; all the readers who bought at .05 should think about doing that. And those who bought above .12 should also think about doing the same, unless you plan to hold it for couple more weeks. No matter what, alway remember that the call was at .04. As much as i want AMRE to get to $1, it doesn't have to go there in a few days. It may not even go there is something bad happens to NAUC. But based on my analysis, i believe that if NAUC trades at $3-4, why can't AMRE be at $1?

As always, all usual disclaimers apply.

tv107,

Alot of people i know are actually not sophisticated enough to peddle their wares on ebay.

I would say the majority of the population don't have the time or the know-how. Additionally, when someone wants to sell something expensive, they usually are afraid of doing it himself, for fear of not getting a good price on ebay.

Many people don't even have an ebay account, because it requires going thru a rather lengthy process to get an account opened! And then there's Paypal! And then you alot of people who don't like to give their credit card or bank account info to eBay, because of the potential account stolen or email frauds! lol

eBay consignment shops are not as stupid as you think. It just haven't gotten to critical mass yet. Kinda like Starbucks. Before Starbucks, there were alot of coffee shops (7-Elevens, Gas stations, Winchell's Donuts, etc) and everybody didn't think there was a need for Starbucks. They probably thought it was such a stupid idea.

And the rest, as they say, is history..... LOL

I'm not sure I'm that comfortable with the implications that current sales / profit might look pale to a 200M cap.

Your interpritation? JMO, any company with 200M cap that is not a startup/IPO had better have cap to earnings of 50-->10 or less, less is better. TASR has 650M cap and only 65M earnings.

Do we know what LLLI's earnings might be? Little FA from this co. Also no date when those warrents can be dumped.

LLLI: Continues Run Since March Reverse Merger [delayed]

Ridgeland, MS, MAY 26, 2005 (EventX/Knobias.com via COMTEX) --
Since completing a reverse merger Sinewire Networks in March 2005, shares of Lamperd Less Lethal Inc (OTCBB: LLLI) have only gone up. The supplier of less-than-lethal weapon systems is up over 30% after hitting another 52-week high of $4.56 in early trading Thursday. Shortly after the reverse, LLLI closed a private placement of 1.5M shares @ $1/shr with 3M warrants exercisable between $1.25-1.40. LLLI has yet to file new financial information since the reverse, so it is unclear whether the Company is generating income to support its current $200M+ marketcap. Shares outstanding: 50,500,000.

Think about it! Think about it hard!

A real gun in the home is way too dangerous for children and you may not want to kill the person or shoot the wrong person (maybe your dad dressing up as Santa for surprise...lol). A taser gun is lame against 2 assailants and need very close distance; and what if you miss? The ONLY real viable solution that makes any sense is a Lamperd non-lethal gun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
