Today i mentioned something about the market that doesn't feel right. I now do not think that last Thursday's selloff was for just profit taking. It was on humongous volume. Go check out the QQQQ's on that day to know what i mean.

Today, I recommended everyone to get out of margin completely. In fact, i got out most of my long positions. Today's runup of the nasdaq could be due to anticipation of GOOG announcing blowout earnings. What we got was a limp reaction.

You know i like this stock alot, both from a trading and an investment perspective. I'd stay away from EMC. I like VMW's business, i therefore buy VMW. None of that EMC backdoor nonsense.

Tobin Smith is saying that VMW can get to $1,000, which is the next GE.

At $500, VMW would be the next CSCO or GOOG.

I'd say $500 is more reasonable than $1,000. No one should trade more than GE.

So in light of VMW support from Tobin, i am now raising my target of VWM from $300 to $500.

Cardica provides the technology for surgeons to do better coronory artery surgeries. From what i can remember, the developer of the technology is also the guy who developed the technology for ISRG. I guess many investors are thinking CRDC is the next ISRG, and it may well be.

Alternative energy ABAT the next HANS?

The company makes advanced lithium batteries serving mostly China currently. They are growing very fast and are profitable. You know how much i like solars and alternative energy. It's the only reason i would even touch stocks under $10.

ABAT will be listed on the Amex on October 9th. There should be a rally before then as well as a rally after the listing.

I expect this sector to blow the lid of the freakin roof in 2-3 years. All these stocks will go steroidal.

I'm giving a $70 price target on ABAT within 2 years.

LDK closed @ 51.65 and dropped below 48 afterhours.

I just got back and looks like we got a profit taking late session. This should be of no surprise to you folks because we are overbought in the immediate term. Give it 1-2 more days and then buy more solars. I believe selloffs like today is a gift.

LDK took down the sector, but it will be temporary. I'm not sure what's with LDK but i am checking now. But i think it's a non-event. I would probably buy some below 50 afterhours. Just some. WHen the mad crowd wants to exit there's not much you can do but to wait for a hint of a reversal. The stock closed at the 50dayMA. It would make sense to buy some here.

LDK is now at nonsense levels. A buy below 48 right this moment afterhours is a bargain. It is excessively oversold. I won't bet my house on it but i would buy some here.

LDK is a New York Stock Exchange stock company that just went ipo within less than 6 months. C'mon man, that selloff is a total nonsense and a great place to pick some up.

How many NYSE companies do you know that blows up as a fraud right after 6 months of their ipo? NONE.

It's a buy buy buy!

I reiterate: LDK is a really great investment at below 48, and a great overnite daytrade as well.

The stock is a pinksheet. I have not play anything less than $10 in awhile. But i truly believe in the solar and alternative energy super bull market that will last another 4-5 years. If it turns out to be the case, ALL SOLAR AND ALTERNATIVE ENERGY stocks will fly, regardless of whether they're big or small.

At one point, TSSP traded at $0.35 several years ago. That is nearly 600 times the current price. I know there's been alot of dilution since then but it's a very small cap company, nevertheless. If the solars become white hot, eventually i see TSSP trading above $.35 . I don't mind increasing my stake 600 times. For every $100 invested, it could get you $60,000 when and if the solars become white hot.

Please play no more than $500 and consider it a lottery ticket only. I'm personally only playing $200 for this lotto, but could add more as it rises and as the solars really take off. I plan to hold for a few years.

You hopefully have already positioned yourselves in this stock yesterday, or today, or several months ago at under $50. It is going higher and my take is that it will become a 10-bagger faster than you (if you're shorting it) can say, "What the hell!!!!??"

The stock is now set for a parabolic trajectory to $200. If there is a next stock which will have Googlesque run, it will be FSLR. (To put it simply, FSLR is the next GOOG, imo.)

This stock has been recommended here many times, starting under $50. It is still a great long term investment. There are very few techs that pay you a dividend of .75 per share. GRMN has been increasing their dividend steadily throughout the years. Just a great company all around.

Global positioning systems are here to stay and will be with us for a long long long long time. GRMN is the undisputed leader and ought to be in your IRAs.

I believe that GRMN will eventually see north of 100 billion market cap (4x where it is now).

The selloff last week came with so much fear and volume that it may have been the ultimate bottom. There might be some more bad news in the next few weeks regarding subprime and bank and hedgefund failures but the fed is letting us know that they are taking a very proactive stance against the credit crunch. You just can't go against the fed and go all out shorting the market. Many very smart traders have had their bungholes widened fighting the fed throughout the decades.

Conditions are oversold in the extremes in the short term. We either rebound now or we crash. Since this is not September or October, a bounce is expected. The Sunday night futures are up significantly.

The technicals of SPY, DIA, and QQQQ are all showing a Monday bounce. We are very oversold in the very short term, though not the intermediate term we are not.

The bears will occasionally throw a monkey wrench at us because they really want the markets to crash. But the liquidity pump by the Fed last Friday should counter some of the negativity. The fed also pumped us up in February and the rest was history. The next 2 months will be the permabears' Last Stand. They will throw at the bulls all their weapons of financial destruction to try to bring the market to its knees.

There's only a 2 month window left to be a bear. That's it, and then we get the year end rally.

Aug, Sept and Oct tend to be the worst months of the year for the stock market. It's when all the negative news gets magnified, resulting in profit taking, which sets the stage for a year end rally. The subprime slime is making this summer much more volatile, characterized by sharp moves both ways.

Something tells me that things will get worst before it gets better. A 'contagion' could chop the stock market a good 20%. That means in the worst case scenerio the Dow goes to 11,200 as the final bottom.

As such, you must preserve capital. Trade small and trade quick in the short term, or trade the intermediate timeframe - which is trending downwards. Or just buy some index puts for October and go take a vacation. No matter what, you must preserve capital to buy the sale in late September or mid October, assuming we get the worst case scenerio.

This stock is way oversold from 89. It offers really good entry about here.

AMZN yesterday announced they are getting into the grocery business where they deliver the products to your doorstep. It's an absolutely great idea and also perfect timing for Amazon. I think they will succeed, unlike Webvan.com that didn't have the money nor the infrastructure to make it happen.

I believe this stock is headed to over 100. I also believe this is the next Walmart.

EMC's spinoff VMWare is going ipo within 2 weeks. It's the hottest ipo of the year. Some think it's the next GOOG. I beg to differ. If it were, wouldn't EMC have a much larger market cap right now? EMC owns 90% of VMWare after the spinoff.

EMC is perhaps the safest tech stock to own in this market turmoil.

As expected, MA got hit this morning. When a market looks really bad, they tend to take down stocks during earnings regardless of what they say.

Yesterday, the selling was pervasive from start to finish. But we are due for an oversold bounce.

August is typically a bad month for stocks. I suggest you don't put too much money in the market for the time being.

Here's the deal. Within the next two years there will
be more internet users in china than in the USA. BIDU
owns almost 60% of the market while GOOG owns 25% of
Chinese users. Assuming that pace keeps up, i give
BIDU as least 20% (and that is being conservative) the
valuation of GOOG. GOOG is now 160 billion market cap,
while BIDU is 7 billion market cap. 20% of 160 billion
= 32 billion. To get to 32 billion market cap, BIDU
would need to get to 5 times bigger than it is now.
$200 * 5 = $1,000!!!!!!!

If it ever corrects to $180, back up 3 trucks!

Time to whack NVDA!

I have no doubt that AAPL will see $200. Absolutely no doubt. Just not tomorrow.

BIDU has jetfuel ready to launch to the stratosphere! I tagged this one with a target of $1,000 and i believe it will get there. Will BIDU do an ISRG tomorrow, with a 50-60 point gain? If you're not in already, you're late to the party. So you should only buy the dip or decide whether it will get a second day run by watching the close (as well as the general market). It needs to stay above 216 to move higher.

Also, a word on solar energy to the disbelievers.
China is growing up and growing up fast. Two things
they absolutely need are infrastructure (that's why

years now) and energy (they cannot go mainly on oil
because they are dying from air pollution and there
ain't enough cheap oil to go around). The chinese need
alternative energy and the most viable will be solar
energy. China, as is the rest of the world, is really
pushing alternative energy.

Do yourselves a favor and get in early in solar stocks,
arguably one of the best investments of a lifetime.

Even though i was very negative on tech after GOOG's disappointing earning, all may not be lost. Because we are still in a very bullish environment (climbing thru a constant Wall of Worries) selloffs are usually deep like the one we had on friday. It is meant to work off a short term overbought condition. The indexes are still in an uptrend and hasn't broken, so we have to respect that. Short term, i think the markets will go generally down most of next week.

GOOG may turn out to be a great buy on friday in the low 500. And it most likely is. It will trade sideways for awhile and let AAPL (assuming they impress next week) step up as General to lead the techs. Other techs that could follow are RIMM, AMZN (assuming they don't get iced on earnings), BIDU (same assumption), SNDK, GRMN, KLA, ORCL, CSCO.

I would not dispose of those sept RIMM. I still like it alot. Imo, there is no way it won't have a pre or post split rally.

AAPL is a monster. We complained and complained when it was at $60. Just a little bit of patience does a wallet good.

I still think we will end with a great year in 2007, a presidential cycle. And you know that whatever GW Bush wants, he gets. Who wants to bet that he doesn't want the market to end on a bang, going into the 2008 election?

SNDK is gapping up to 59 this morning.

The GOOG miss will eventually hurt tech, and soon. Wait till GOOG bounces and SNDK stalls, then short SNDK or buy the aug 55 puts. The AAPL upgrade this morning should help with the tech bounce.

Sell tech on the bounce. The 4 horsemen had their 3 month rally and is now ready to head back to the valley. If you feel aggressive you can short tech: GOOG, EBAY, SNDK, NVDA, AMZN (which i think will get hit on earnings next week), RIMM, etc.

RIMM is perhaps the strongest tech stock right now. If tech is perking up to take a stand, RIMM is the leader especially with a 3:1 split lurking in August.

I highly suggest you buy some Sept calls to take advantage of the pre or post split rally that i fully expect will happen with this stock.

$300 by Sept is my opinion.

Buy the SOLF august 15 calls @ 40 cents or less.

I could be wrong but i have a feelin that they're gonna run this one just like JASO, to $20 and then to $40. It might take longer than August to get there. We'll play the august and if it doesn't work out, we'll play the september or october after august expires. So you better have some money saved up for later.

RIMM currently trades @ 214

After years of fighting the red tape, China finally allows RIMM to sell the blackberry inside of China. Already 5000 companies have pre-ordered. This i think is huge for RIMM.

Buy the stock, or the Sept 220 (around $10) or Sept 230 calls (around $14). The reason for the september calls, instead of July or Aug.? The stock splits 3:1 on August 20th. The september calls allow you to take advantage of the split run.

Any hope for blackeyed Blackstone (BX) ?

BX is the biggest private equity fund around. While i find private equity going public makes no sense at all, i feel that the big boys will eventually put this stock in play.

It is very important the stock trades and stays above $30 soon, or else i don't recommend owning it. The stock could still dip to the low $20. I will use $30 as my guide. Get in above $30 and stay out below $30.

I am choosing to look at playing this stock at this time is because the chart is saying it should go higher at least in the short term. I am hoping the big boys pick this one up and run it to new highs, instead of bouncing it and then let it rip lower. We'll just have to put this one on our radar and see.

Buy the stock (or the option) if it trades and holds above $30. The July 30 calls are $.80 right now. You must be sure that the stock goes above $30 if you're gonna buy those calls, or you might as well put good money down the drain.

AAPL earnings come out end of july. The iPhone sales probably will not count toward this quarter because the quarter already ended before the launch of the iPhone. Nevertheless, i believe that anticipation of the iPhone has brought alot of people to Apple products. What is important, though, at earnings will be the guidance. Make no mistake about it, the iPhone will be responsible for future blockbuster quarters. Why did Steve Jobs go with Cingular, when their network ain't that great? Because Cingular was the only company that was willing to give up alot to Steve Jobs, including a percentage of the monthly fees you and i pay to use the iPhone. Verizon probably told Stevie Jobs to get lost.

There's been talk of AAPL heading to $200, which would give a market cap of about $200 billion (which is bigger than Intel's $155 billion market cap). I personally think that ($200) will be the ultimate top for AAPL, because any tech stock that gets bigger than Intel (with the exception of MSFT) is probably done going up. I guess if AAPL continues innovating and brings in more people to the world of Apple and Macs, the stock could surpass $200 billion market cap. AAPL could also trade above $200 if the company keeps on buying back stock in the future but i don't think AAPL is known for liking to buy back stock their own stock.

Let's worry about the ultimate top later, but right now i want you to buy:
Aug 140 calls @ 1.50 or so, or buy the stock.

I don't like this play as much as i liked the BIDU play. AAPL could drop to $115 where you can back up the truck if that happens, but at a lower strike price.

Let's see if the stock can hold above the opening price before buying.

I like this dominant search company of China. It now owns over 55% of search while GOOG commands only 19% of all the searches in China.

Earnings is at the end of July and i think it will be a blowout. I believe the stock will trade to $200 after the report. It would really make my month if it gets to $200 before earnings.

I recommend buying August calls.

We are beyond a doubt severely short term oversold, on a repeat of the subprime scare again.

When you are confused and bewildered, please look to solar stocks as the place to be. We are at the beginnings of a multiyear rally in alternative energy, especially solar. Ted Turner is a visionary and he already gave you a clue as to what is the next big big thing. Don't you forget that.

Why solar? Everything else seem so played out and so yesterday. Honestly, how many times can you buy EBAY and YHOO. They are old news, yesterday's plays. They are now merely channeling stocks. Back and forth, back and forth like a yo-yo.

Alternative energy is the only sector offering intrigue, a new beginning, and a huge potential for the future.

The Case For a Huge Snapback Rally

A little bit of it came a day sooner than i thought.

I think Thursday was capitulation day and stocks should stabilize. I predict we may even rally hard starting next week.

I think we are done selling. I posted the reason i believe that is the case at www.tradertim.blogspot.com Thursday nite/Friday early morning. I'll repost some of it here:

'The world markets are crashing and will likely continue for some time. The USA selloff is in sympathy to the rest of the world, as well as being overextended in its rising. The question is whether US market will follow them to the abyss. Even if it does, the USA correction will not last for more than 3 months. It may end up being very quick but very sharp.

On Friday, I think we go down early morning and go lower at the close and bounce on Monday.

AKAM, SBUX, WFMI have all bottomed at the lower bottom range. I have told my people to look into AKAM when it was near 42, SBUX near 29, and WFMI slightly below 40. I still consider them at bottom at current levels. A better way to put it is AKAM has bottomed at low 40's, SBUX has bottomed at the very high 20's, and WFMI has bottomed in the very high $30's.

-AKAM has major support at 41.
-SBUX has major support at 28. (It's at 27 now, but give it one more day to right itself.)
-WFMI has major support at 38.

-YHOO is also at bottom.
-AMGN already bounced off the bottom.
-DNA is at bottom.
-AMD is essentially at bottom.
-BRCM is at bottom.
-CSCO is near bottom.
-MOT is near bottom.
-DIS is near bottom.
-EBAY is 2 points near bottom.
-NYX has bottomed at 80.

etc.

So many decent companies are showing stock prices near intermediate bottoms that i don't think the market is headed that much lower. It would take an extraordinary worldwide event to precipitate a crash-like situation that could break bottoms for these stocks. Ben Benanke not cutting interest rates this year is NOT enough of a good reason for a bear market! Perhaps a severe global tectonic plate slippage, that causes the deaths of millions, might. Or maybe some big news coming from China might.

Very interesting dichotomy here. The traders are telling me we aren't done selling. The world markets collapse is telling me we not done selling. Even my astrologer is saying we're not done selling. Yet when i look at alot of stocks (that are not current leaders) they are telling me that we are done selling essentially as of yesterday. '

Those stocks above (and many more) are indeed at intermediate bottoms. Many of them were selling off weeks before the 3-day market plunge. This leads me to believe that Thursday was capitulation. If these stocks don't go down any further (and Friday's action confirms they likely won't), how can the market continue to go down? It simply can't. And if i am correct, we go higher from next week on. Will we get a huge snapback rally, in addition to Friday's?

Many traders believe that we will repeat last June's selloff, but the situation last year was that most of the stocks above were at their highs. Those stocks above are nowhere near last year's highs! In a bear market, we could definately go lower, but the last i checked we are NOT IN A BEAR MARKET.

I think the European stock markets are in trouble as Morgan Stanley downgraded them to a "full house sell".

China was first to have its head pounded and now you add Europe you get wham bam slam kapow #$^%& plunk!

That will certainly drag down the USA market as well.

It will be a treacherous time this month for world markets but i expect the USA to be the strongest and the quickest to rebound when all the dust settles.

The FDA does not believe that the body can heal itself. Approving drugs like Provenge will set the stage for the eventual approval of natural therapeutics (which focuses entirely on stimulating the body to heal itself). Natural therapeutics are cheap and are not patentable; therefore, no multibillion dollar profits for big pharma.

FWLT is a really cheap stock, as indicated by Cramer.

$4 billion in revenues, about $370 million profits; yet market cap is only $7 billion!!! (Note that 10 years ago the market cap for FWLT reached over 50 billion)

Cramer should have made FWLT his stock of the year instead of NYX.

FWLT is an infrastructure play for numerous industries. The stock could see $175 by year end, and likely gonna double again by end of 2008.

As long as the stock stays above 100, i am very bullish.
